What these “fonts” really are
Bios, captions and comments on Instagram and Facebook have no font menu, so each style here swaps your letters for look-alike characters from Unicode, the standard phones and computers use for text. Bold, italic, cursive and Old English come from a set of letters made for maths; others are circled letters, small capitals, lines drawn through letters, or letters from other alphabets. Apps treat them as ordinary characters, which is why they keep their look when you paste them.
That is also where the limits come from. There is nothing to install, so they won’t appear in any font menu. A few may show as empty boxes on older phones, search may not match them to the plain words, and screen readers may spell them out or skip them. Keep your name, hashtags and anything people need to read in plain letters.
Font pages by style, app and use
Each page starts the generator on the styles that suit it and says where they work, from bios and names to hashtags and Facebook.

Questions people ask
Are these real fonts?
No. A font changes how letters are drawn; these styles swap the letters themselves for different Unicode characters that look styled. That is why they keep their look when you paste them into a bio or a comment, and why there is nothing to download or install.
Can I use these fonts in my Instagram username?
No. Instagram usernames can only contain plain letters, numbers, periods and underscores, so styled characters are refused. Your name field and bio do accept them, and that is where most people put them.
Do they work on Facebook?
In posts, comments and Messenger they usually show up fine. Profile names are different: Facebook’s name rules don’t allow symbols or characters from more than one language, so a styled name is usually refused.
Why do some styles show as boxes or question marks?
The phone or computer showing the text has no font that includes those characters, so it draws a placeholder instead. It happens most on older devices, and with newer or rarer characters such as black squares or letters borrowed from other alphabets.
Can screen readers read fancy text?
Often not well. Depending on the screen reader, styled letters are read one at a time, announced by their full Unicode names or skipped. Keep your name, key words and anything people need to act on in plain letters, and use styles for decoration.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. The styles are worked out by this page, in your browser, as you type. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored.
