Instagram bios for wedding planners

Couples read a wedding planner's bio looking for three things: do you plan the kind of wedding they want, are you calm, and how do they reach you. These original bios cover full planners, day-of coordinators and destination specialists, with a fill-in formula and tips on dates and enquiries.

Write your own

A bio that works usually has the same few parts. Fill them in for yours, or start from the example.

  1. Who you are: planner, coordinator, stylist
  2. Where you work, or where you travel
  3. How you work: calm, detailed, budget-minded
  4. Next step: enquiry word, link or dates open

Worked example

Tips for your bio

  1. Put the service and the city in the name field, such as 'Anika | Wedding Planner Edinburgh'. Couples search by place and role, and the name field is what Instagram search weighs most.

  2. Say what level of help you offer. 'Full planning', 'partial planning' and 'day-of coordination' are three different jobs, and naming yours saves you a lot of mismatched enquiries.

  3. Give one way to enquire. A contact button, a DM word or a form link all work, but pick one and say it, so a couple does not have to guess which you check.

  4. Only call yourself 'award-winning', 'top' or 'best' if you can show who gave the award and when. Otherwise let the photos and a few real details speak.

  5. Ask couples before you post their wedding, and say whose work is in the photos. Credit the photographer and the venue in the caption rather than stuffing names into the bio.

  6. Update the dates line when your calendar changes. 'Enquiries open for [year]' is helpful when true, and a stale one makes a busy planner look quiet.

Questions people ask

What should a wedding planner put in an Instagram bio?

Your role, your area, the kind of weddings you plan and one step to enquire. Add a short line about how you work, such as calm or detail-led, because couples often choose on trust as much as style.

Should I list prices in my bio?

Usually not. Prices depend on the wedding, and a number in a bio can put off couples who would have been a good fit. A line such as 'DM PLAN for packages' invites the conversation without fixing a figure.

Is a business account better for a wedding planner?

A professional account adds a contact button and a category label, and shows insights on your posts. Both help couples find a way to get in touch, and you can switch back to a personal account if it does not suit you.

How do I attract the kind of couples I want?

Describe them. 'Small weddings', 'destination weddings' or '[tradition] weddings' in the bio, backed by posts of that style, brings in couples who want exactly that and filters out the rest.

Can a wedding planner use a funny bio?

Yes, if the joke is about the job and not the couple. 'Emergency kit in the boot' shows you are prepared. Keep one plain line saying what you do and how to enquire.
