Write your own

A bio that works usually has the same few parts. Fill them in for yours, or start from the example.

  1. What you make
  2. What sets the range apart
  3. Where it is made or who makes it
  4. How to buy or get help

Tips for your bio

  1. Avoid wording that says your products treat, cure or prevent a skin condition. Rules on what a cosmetic can claim differ by country, so keep to describing what the product is and how it is used.

  2. Do not use words like 'clinically proven', 'dermatologist approved' or 'non-toxic' unless you can show the evidence and the rules allow it. Plain descriptions of ingredients are safer.

  3. Use 'patch test advised' in highlights or on the post. It sets honest expectations, and it is the kind of line a careful customer reads and trusts.

  4. Put a routine guide behind a comment word. 'Comment ROUTINE for the guide' gives value first, and it opens a conversation you can reply to with product suggestions.

  5. Show the label. A photo of the ingredient list in a highlight makes the brand look transparent, and it answers the most common question from people with sensitive skin.

  6. Keep reviews honest. Share real customer messages with permission, and never imply results you cannot show.

Questions people ask

What should a skincare brand put in its Instagram bio?

What you make, what sets the range apart, where it is made and how to buy. Keep claims modest and factual. Move ingredient detail and routines into highlights.

Can a skincare bio say what products do for the skin?

Be careful. Many countries treat claims about treating or curing a condition differently from cosmetic claims. Stick to describing the product and how it is used, and check your local rules.

How do I mention ingredients without making claims?

State what is in the product, such as 'short ingredient lists' or 'fragrance-free options', rather than what it will do. Link to full lists on your shop pages.

How can a small skincare brand use DM keywords?

Offer something useful behind a word, such as a routine guide or sample details. Comment-to-DM tools like DMFast send a plain text first message asking people to reply, then follow with the link.

Should a founder write the bio in the first person?

Often it works well for small brands, because buyers like to know who makes the products. Use 'I' for a solo founder and 'we' for a team, and keep it consistent across the page.
