Instagram bio ideas

Instagram bios for boutiques and fashion brands

A boutique bio should tell a new visitor what you sell, who it is for and how to buy, in about a breath. These original bios cover clothing shops, small fashion labels and online boutiques, with a formula and tips on drops, sizing and delivery wording.

Write your own

A bio that works usually has the same few parts. Fill them in for yours, or start from the example.

  1. What you sell and who it is for
  2. What makes the range yours
  3. Delivery, returns or drop day
  4. How to buy

Worked example

Linen and cotton womenswear, sizes 6 to 24 🌾 Designed in Bristol, made in small batches New pieces every Friday Shop: tap the link

Tips for your bio

  1. Put what you sell in the name field, for example 'Willow | Womenswear Bristol'. Boutique shoppers search by item and place more than by brand name.

  2. State your size range in the bio. Fit is the biggest reason people leave a shop page, and 'sizes 6 to 24' answers it at once.

  3. Show drop days. Customers who know new pieces land every Friday come back on Friday, and it turns a feed into a habit.

  4. Be exact about delivery wording. Write 'free delivery over [amount]' only if that is your real rule, and keep returns wording the same as on your site.

  5. Use a shoppable or single link, not several. If you sell on your own site, link to the new-arrivals page rather than the home page.

  6. Avoid claims such as 'sustainable' or 'ethically made' unless you can explain them. If you do make those claims, say specifically what you mean in a highlight.

Questions people ask

What should a boutique put in its Instagram bio?

What you sell, who it is for, how new stock arrives and how to buy. A size range and a delivery or returns line answer the questions shoppers ask most in comments and DMs.

Should a boutique bio mention sales and discounts?

Only for a short, current offer. Bios go out of date, and a sale that ended last month looks careless. Use a pinned post or highlight for offers that change.

How can I use DM keywords in a fashion bio?

Ask people to comment or DM a word, such as SIZE or LOOK, and send the answer by message. In DMFast, the first message is plain text asking them to reply, and a link or product card can follow once they do.

Is a physical boutique bio different from an online one?

Yes. A shop with a street address needs the city and opening days. An online label needs delivery countries and returns. Both need a clear way to buy.

How do I write a bio for a brand with a small range?

Lead with what the range does well, for example one fabric or one silhouette. A narrow focus reads as confident and is easier to remember than a long list.
