Instagram auto-replies for insurance agents

An insurance agent posts a Reel about renewal day and gets comments asking what a policy would cost. Comment-to-DM replies with a question about the type of cover and when it ends, which is what you need to quote. It cannot price a policy or recommend one.

Comment words for insurance agents

Ask people to comment one word in your caption or video. Each word sends something different.

QUOTE
How to ask for a quote: the type of cover, who needs it and the three details you will want, with a note that the price comes from you and the insurer.
RENEWAL
A checklist for the weeks before a policy renews: what to compare, what changed in your life and what to ask before you accept the same price.
CLAIM
What to gather and who to call first when something has gone wrong, with your own route for helping a client through it.
COVER
A plain-words guide to what a type of policy usually includes, what it usually leaves out and where to read the exact wording.
TRAVEL
What to check on a trip policy: medical cover, cancellation, activities and the paperwork to carry, for people planning a holiday.
BUSINESS
A first conversation for small-business owners: what you insure, why premises and equipment differ from liability, and what to list for a quote.
NEWCAR
A short guide for people who just bought a car: what to have ready, what changes the premium and when cover must start.

4 set-ups to try

Each one shows the conversation it creates. After a comment, the first DM is plain text, as Meta requires, and the link follows once they answer.

  • Renewal checklist from a “before you auto-renew” Reel

    Someone comments on your post

    RENEWAL

    Public reply under their comment

Sent! The checklist is in your DMs 🛡️

    First DM (plain text)

Thanks for the comment. Which policy is coming up for renewal, such as car, home or health, and roughly when does it end? Reply and I'll send the checklist to run through first.Yes pleaseBefore you renew: a checklistGet the checklist

Renewal season is when people compare. The type of policy and the end date tell you whether to book a call now or in a month, and the checklist helps whether or not they end up buying from you.

  • Claim help from a DM keyword

CLAIMI'm sorry to hear that. Is anyone hurt, and is it safe where you are? If so, call the emergency number first. Reply when you are safe and I'll send what to gather for a claim. What to gather for a claimSee the list

A message with the word claim usually comes from someone having a bad day. Putting safety first is kinder than a form, and the list of what to collect is the same for most claims. A person should take over from there.

  • Trip-cover guide from a holiday Story

    Replied to your story

TRAVELSounds like a great trip. Where are you going, and are you planning anything active such as diving or skiing? Reply and I'll send what to check on a travel policy before you buy.Travel cover: what to checkRead the guide

The activities matter because cover often differs for them, and people forget to ask. A Story about a packing list or a holiday gets replies from people with a trip already booked.

  • Quote requests for first-time business owners

Thanks, the first step is in your DMs 🏪

Thanks for the comment. What does your business do, and does it have a shop, an office or equipment you want covered? Reply and I'll send what I need to prepare a quote.Yes pleaseWhat to list for a business quoteSee the list

A cleaner and a café owner need very different cover. Asking what the business does and what it owns lets you route the enquiry to the right person and shortens the first call.

What people ask an insurance agent in DMs

Messages come in two moods: calm ones before a purchase or renewal, and stressed ones after something has gone wrong. Treat them differently. The calm ones suit a checklist. The stressed ones need a human, soon.

They askSend automaticallyAnswer yourself when
How much is cover for my car?The QUOTE card, with a question about the car and driverThey give details: a person prepares and checks the quote
Does my policy cover this?Nothing: the answer is in their wordingAlways, and only after reading the policy
I had an accident. What now?The CLAIM card, with a safety question firstAnyone is hurt, or they ask whether to admit fault
Should I switch insurer at renewal? The RENEWAL checklistThey want a recommendation
Do I need insurance for my side business? The BUSINESS cardIt involves a licence, a contract requirement or staff
Can I change my policy?Nothing automaticAlways, after verifying who is asking

Tip: Policy numbers, ID photos and payment details do not belong in a DM. Tell people in the first message to use your normal secure route, and add that line to the text you give to AI replies on the Growth and Business plans.

Posts that earn comments for an agent

  • A Reel acting out a claim call that goes smoothly because the caller had four things ready, with CLAIM for the list.
  • A carousel on the five things that change a car premium, with NEWCAR for the new-driver guide.
  • A Story the week before school holidays that asks where people are travelling, with TRAVEL in the reply.
  • A reminder at the start of the month that a renewal letter is not the end of the conversation, with RENEWAL for the checklist.
  • A simple whiteboard of what covers a shop, what covers its stock and what covers its staff, with BUSINESS for a first call.
  • A plain-words post on excess and limits, with COVER for a guide to the vocabulary.

Insurance posts do best when they follow real events in your region: storm and flood season, the school holidays, tax-year changes, and the weeks when cars are registered. Choose the keyword for the event and turn it on a few weeks before.

From a comment to a quote

  1. The first DM asks for the type of cover and, where it helps, the date it ends.
  2. The card opens your quote form or booking page. DMFast does not price policies or read an insurer’s system.
  3. Offer a checklist for an email, and export the list as a CSV so you can write to people ahead of their renewal date from your own email tool.
  4. Use the single reminder for people who asked for a quote and went quiet, since many compare for a few days.
  5. Reply yourself to every CLAIM message. Make your phone number the first thing in that reply.

Agents in India can use the DMFast store to sell a short guide as a digital product, give away a checklist for an email and take free or paid 1-on-1 calls, with payments through Razorpay. Policies and premiums are never handled there.

Rules and risks to check

  • No advice in automated replies. Recommending a policy or saying what a policy covers can count as regulated advice in many places. Keep automatic messages to checklists, what to prepare and how to reach you.
  • Licensing and disclosure. Most countries license who may sell or advise on insurance and require certain statements. Check what you must state, such as your licence number or the insurers you represent.
  • Claims language. Never promise a claim will be paid. The insurer decides, under the policy wording.
  • Sensitive details. Health information, ID numbers and payment details need a secure route. Do not ask for them in a DM.
  • Meta’s limits. One private reply per comment, within 7 days, and automated messages only reach a person within 24 hours of their last message.

Questions people ask

Can the automatic reply say whether a policy covers something?

No. Whether something is covered depends on the exact wording of the person’s policy, and a general answer can mislead. Use the automation for checklists and for how to reach you, and have a licensed person read the policy and answer.

Can it give a price?

Not unless you write a fixed price yourself, and for most policies the price depends on the person. A better use is to ask the few questions you need, then have a person quote. DMFast does not connect to insurers or rating tools.

Why can’t the first message include my quote form link?

Instagram allows plain text only as the first private message to someone who commented. Ask a question about their cover first. When a person writes to you or replies to a Story, the card with the form can arrive straight away.

Can I contact clients about their renewal date?

Not automatically through Instagram. Automated messages only go to people who messaged you in the last 24 hours, and mass DMs are not possible with official tools. Collect emails through a checklist offer and use your own email tool, following local marketing rules.

Does it work with a Facebook Page for my agency?

Yes. Comments on Page posts and Messenger messages get the same keyword replies. Story replies and the follower gate are Instagram only, and it does not work with WhatsApp, personal Instagram accounts or Threads.
