Instagram auto-replies for graphic designers

A designer posts a logo reveal and gets forty comments asking how much, plus a few asking for the files. Comment-to-DM replies with the questions a brief needs: who the business is and who it is for. It cannot see designs or judge a brief, so you write the quote.

Comment words for graphic designers

Ask people to comment one word in your caption or video. Each word sends something different.

LOGO
Your logo packages: how many concepts, rounds of changes, the files delivered and a rough timeline from brief to final artwork.
BRAND
What a full brand identity includes: logo, colours, type, patterns, a short guidelines document and a launch kit for social posts.
QUOTE
How you quote a job, what you need from the client first and the questions that move a price up or down.
FILES
The file types a client should receive, such as vector, PNG and PDF, what each one is for and why a logo in a single format is not enough.
PRINT
A print-ready checklist: bleed, resolution, colour mode and fonts converted to outlines, so a file goes to the printer without a rejection.
TEMPLATES
Social post templates a client can edit themselves, with a guide to which fonts and colours to keep, so the page looks consistent.
PORTFOLIO
Three projects chosen for the kind of client who is asking, each showing the brief, your decisions and the finished work.

4 set-ups to try

Each one shows the conversation it creates. After a comment, the first DM is plain text, as Meta requires, and the link follows once they answer.

  • Logo enquiries from a reveal Reel

    Someone comments on your post

    LOGO

    Public reply under their comment

Thanks, the details are in your DMs 🎨

    First DM (plain text)

Thanks for the comment. What does the business do, and who are its customers? Reply and I'll send my logo packages, what each includes and how long a project usually takes.Yes pleaseLogo packages and processSee the packages

A reveal Reel draws people who like the finished mark but cannot tell how it was made. The business and its customers are the two facts every logo brief starts from, so asking for them stops a price discussion happening in the dark.

  • Print-ready checklist from a flyer post

    Someone comments on your post

    PRINT

    Public reply under their comment

The checklist is on its way to your DMs 🖨️

    First DM (plain text)

Thanks for asking. What are you printing, and roughly how many copies do you need? Reply and I'll send the checklist I use before any file goes to a printer.Yes pleasePrint-ready file checklistGet the checklist

Printing mistakes are expensive and people often discover them after the run. What and how many tells you whether this is a one-off poster or a larger job, and the checklist shows why a professional file differs from one saved for the screen.

  • Quote requests from a “how much?” message

QUOTEThanks for asking. What do you need designed, and when does it need to be ready? Reply and I'll send how I quote and what I need from you to give a price. How I quote a design jobSee how it works

Add PRICE and HOW MUCH to the same auto-reply. A bare “how much for a logo?” gives no scope, and the deadline question reveals rush jobs early, so you can price the extra work or say no.

  • File-format help from a Story about a lost logo

    Replied to your story

FILESThanks for the reply. Which files do you have for your logo now, and where do you need to use it? Reply and I'll send which formats a business needs and what each one is for.The logo files you should haveRead the guide

A Story about a client who only had a screenshot of their logo gets replies from business owners in the same position. Their answer shows what is missing, and the guide gives you a reason to ask for a redraw as a paid job.

What people ask a graphic designer in DMs

Designers get messages from people who cannot see the work behind a price. Many arrive with a screenshot and a short question. Some can be answered by a fixed card. Others test your boundaries on scope and free work.

They askSend automaticallyAnswer yourself when
How much for a logo? The LOGO card, with a question about the businessThey share a budget: you decide if it fits
Can you do a few ideas first so I can choose?Your policy on unpaid concept work, written onceIt is a paid pitch with a clear brief
Can I have the editable files? The FILES cardYour contract keeps source files: you decide whether to sell them
Can you make this look like another brand's logo?Nothing automaticAlways: decline copying, and explain why
Will you design 20 posts for the month? The TEMPLATES cardThey want a retainer: ask about volume and approvals
Can you do the printing too?The PRINT cardYou do not handle print: say so and say what you do instead

Tip: Spec work is a common request. Decide your policy once, write it in a sentence and put it on the QUOTE card, so you are not rejecting people one at a time in the thread.

Posts that earn comments for a designer

  • A logo reveal Reel that starts with the rough sketch and ends with the finished mark, with LOGO for the packages.
  • A before-and-after of a menu or flyer, with the changes labelled, and PRINT for the checklist.
  • A carousel of one brand's colours, type and pattern on real items, shared with the client's agreement, with BRAND.
  • A short film of a file folder done properly, with FILES for the guide.
  • A post showing a template being edited in two minutes, with TEMPLATES.
  • A Story with the weeks you have free for new projects, with QUOTE in the text.

Design work tends to bunch before a business opens, before a trade fair or season starts and in the quiet weeks of a new year, when owners decide to refresh. Print jobs often come in a rush before an event. Put the matching words live before those dates and test each one by commenting from a second account.

From a comment to a signed brief

  1. The first DM asks about the business, the item or the deadline. A reply is the start of a brief, and a short one is better than none.
  2. The card opens your packages page, a brief form or a booking page. DMFast cannot see designs, take files or hold dates in your diary.
  3. Hand out the file guide or the print checklist for an email. The CSV export lets you tell the list when a slot opens.
  4. Use the single reminder for people who asked for a quote and went quiet. Many are waiting for a partner or a co-founder to agree.
  5. Reply yourself within the day to anyone who shares a deadline. A short window is the moment to confirm scope and a deposit.

A designer in India could use the DMFast store to sell a template pack or a font-pairing guide as digital products, give away the brief for an email and take free or paid 1-on-1 calls, with payments through Razorpay. Client design work is delivered and invoiced your own way.

Rights, fonts and promises to check

  • Usage rights. Say who owns the artwork once it is paid for, and what the client may do with it. Copyright and work-for-hire rules differ by country, so have a local professional check your terms.
  • Licensed fonts and images. A font or stock photo bought for you may not cover a logo or a client's use. Read the licence before you deliver, and tell clients what they need to buy.
  • Uniqueness. Do not promise that a logo is unique or can be registered as a trademark. Searches and rules differ by country, and a trademark check is a legal step.
  • Client work. Show a project only with the client's agreement, and respect any NDA about unreleased brands.
  • Revisions. State how many rounds are included and what an extra round costs. A vague promise of “unlimited” changes is the usual cause of an unpaid week.
  • Meta's limits. A comment gets one private reply, within 7 days. Automated messages can only go to someone within 24 hours of their last message.

Questions people ask

Can the automatic reply include my portfolio link?

Not as the first message after a comment. Instagram allows plain text only, so the first DM asks about the business and DMFast sends the card with your link when the person replies. A Story reply or a DM they send first can get the card straight away.

Can it receive a logo file and give me a price?

No. DMFast does not read images or attachments and cannot judge a design. It sends the messages and cards you set up and asks the question that starts a brief. You look at what they send and write the quote yourself.

People ask for the source files after I deliver. What should it say?

Write what your contract says on the FILES card, in two plain lines, and let a person handle exceptions. AI replies on the Growth and Business plans answer only from the business information you give them, so put your file policy there if you use them.

Can I message past clients about a rebrand offer?

Not in bulk through Instagram. Automated messages reach only people who wrote to you within 24 hours, and official tools do not send mass DMs. Use the email list you collected with a lead magnet, and check your local rules on marketing emails.

Does it work with my studio's Facebook Page?

Yes. Comments on Page posts and Messenger messages get the same keyword replies. Story replies and the follower gate are Instagram only. DMFast does not work with WhatsApp, TikTok, Threads or a personal Instagram account.

Two commenters used LOGO on the same post. Does the second one miss out?

No. Every person gets an answer, once a day per auto-reply. Comments that are only links or promo spam are skipped, so a busy reveal Reel does not flood you with repeats, and each real commenter receives the first DM.
