Limits and spam
Instagram's and Messenger's rules, and how DMFast keeps your account safe.
Meta sets firm rules for business messaging. DMFast enforces them for you, and adds a few of its own so your account looks and behaves like a person, not a bot.
Meta's rules
| Rule | What it means |
|---|---|
| One private reply per comment | Each comment can start one DM, within 7 days of the comment, and that first DM is text only. |
| The 24-hour window | Any other DM must go out within 24 hours of the person's last message to you. Each new message reopens it. |
| Instagram comment replies | About 750 an hour per account. |
| Messenger | Page messages are limited by how many people messaged the Page recently. |
| Follows | Instagram doesn't tell apps when someone follows, so DMFast checks when the person replies or taps I followed. |
What DMFast does on top
- Pacing: comment replies stay under 700 an hour per account. During a viral spike, the rest queue and go out as room frees up, so nobody is skipped.
- Once a day per person: each auto-reply answers the same person at most once a day, including catch-all DM auto-replies.
- Spam filter: comments with a link, or that tag another account to promote something (“DM @… for collab”, “check my page @…”), are skipped.
- Real emails only: throwaway addresses and domains that can't receive mail are turned away, and the person is asked again.
- Your own comments never trigger your auto-replies.
When something doesn't send
Check the auto-reply is on and the keyword matches, that the comment is under 7 days old, and that the person hasn't had an answer from the same auto-reply today. For DMs from the Messages page or an AI app, check the 24-hour window. More in Troubleshooting.
