DMFast vs Topmate: auto DMs, fees and what you can sell

Topmate is built to sell your time and know-how: its features page lists seven formats, from 1:1 sessions to Priority DM, and mentions Google Meet and “Zoom Pro built-in” for calls. DMFast’s store is smaller and sits beside its automation: digital products, lead magnets and 1-on-1 bookings, sold from your link-in-bio page and inside DMs, in India only, through Razorpay.

If your offer is a cohort, a webinar seat or a paid written answer, Topmate is the one built for it, because DMFast’s store has no format for those.

We publish DMFast, so every Topmate figure here comes from Topmate’s own pages, read on 6 October 2026. Topmate charges nothing to start selling: no card, no upfront fee and no recurring charge. It keeps 10% of every sale made through your profile or link, and 20% when a new customer buys through its marketplace. Its pricing page also lists “2%/3%” transaction fees in a comparison table, without saying which payments each figure covers, so ask Topmate how they combine with the commission before you set prices.

A worked example

Say you sell 20 calls at ₹1,500 each through your Topmate link in a month, ₹30,000 in all. Topmate keeps ₹3,000 of it. Answering comments automatically adds an Auto DM plan: ₹399 a month for the Auto DM-only plan, ₹999 for Basic, which lists DM automation and follow-ups, or ₹2,999 for Agentic, which adds AI conversations.

Sell the same 20 calls through DMFast’s store and DMFast keeps nothing. Razorpay’s payment fee comes out of each payment before your payout. Automation is a separate plan, priced in US dollars: Free covers one account and 100 people a month, Pro is $9 a month for three accounts and unlimited people, and AI replies start on Growth at $14. Neither total is complete without the payment fees, so put your own numbers through both pricing pages.

Tip: Topmate’s cut buys more than a checkout. Its pricing page lists instant payouts, country-based pricing, discount codes, and buy-again and cart abandonment emails, and its marketplace can bring you new customers. Weigh those against the 10% rather than comparing percentages alone.

On Topmate

1. Connect an Instagram Creator or Business account. Topmate says you need no Facebook Page and no Meta Business account; personal accounts aren’t supported.
2. Set up an automation from a keyword or a trigger: a comment on a post or Reel, a Story reply, a DM or a Live comment. On Agentic, an AI workflow reads what people mean instead of waiting for an exact word.
3. The DM can send your Topmate link, and the conversation can also ask for a follow, collect an email or keep talking.
4. The buyer books or pays on your Topmate page, and Topmate takes its commission there.

On DMFast

1. Connect an Instagram Business or Creator account, a Facebook Page, or both.
2. Choose a post or Reel and a word for people to comment, for example CALL. DMFast answers under the comment and sends a private message.
3. That first message must be plain text, because Instagram and Messenger allow no links or buttons in it, so it asks for a reply: “Reply YES and I’ll send the booking link.”
4. After they reply, a link card, buttons or a product carousel follows. It can open a DMFast product page with Razorpay checkout, or any other link, your Topmate page included.

Both nudge people who go quiet: Topmate lists follow-up messages in Auto DM, and DMFast sends one reminder to someone who stops halfway, on Pro and above.

Topmate automates Instagram; its pages describe nothing for Facebook Pages or Messenger. DMFast covers Instagram professional accounts and Facebook Pages through Messenger, with Story replies and the follower-only option on Instagram alone. It does not work with WhatsApp, TikTok, Threads or personal Instagram accounts.

Both say they run on Meta’s official APIs, so the same platform limits apply to each:

• One private reply per comment, sent within 7 days of the comment.
• Messages only within 24 hours of the person’s last message. The human agent tag stretches that to 7 days for support from real people, never for marketing.
• At most 750 private replies to comments per hour per Instagram account. Topmate calls its paid plans unlimited “subject to Instagram’s own rate limits”; DMFast stays under 700 an hour.
• Comments made during an Instagram Live can only be answered while the Live is running, so a Live comment trigger, Topmate’s included, works only during the broadcast.
• No mass DMs to your followers. Official tools only reply to people who commented, replied or wrote first.

You can keep Topmate as the shop and use DMFast for jobs its Auto DM pages don’t describe: replies to Story mentions, a Facebook Page’s Messenger inbox, or a free start before paying for automation. The DM hands over your Topmate link, and the sale goes through Topmate with its usual commission. If Topmate’s Auto DM already covers everything you post, a second tool adds little.

Send that link as a DMFast tracked link and you can count the clicks that came from DMs, while the bookings and payments show up in Topmate.

Tip: Give each tool its own posts and keywords. Instagram allows one private reply per comment, so if both watch the same Reel, only one of them can send the DM.
