Later’s main job is publishing. You plan posts, schedule them and read the analytics afterwards. Its plans cap posts per profile each month (30 on Starter, 180 on Growth, unlimited on Scale) and include monthly AI credits for its Caption Writer and Ideas tools. Link in Bio comes with every plan, with buttons, featured banners, affiliate links, an email sign-up that connects to Mailchimp, and custom SEO titles.

DMFast doesn’t schedule or publish posts at all. Its work starts once a post is live: someone comments a keyword, replies to a Story, mentions you or sends a DM, and DMFast answers. So the honest comparison is narrow. Both give you a page for your bio link, only Later plans your feed, and of the two only DMFast lists automatic replies.

With Later’s Link in Bio

1. While scheduling the post in Later, you attach a link to it. Later’s product page says an Instagram, TikTok or Snapchat post can carry up to five links, depending on the plan.
2. The caption points people to the link in your bio.
3. They open your profile and tap the bio link, which opens your Later page of linked posts, buttons and banners.
4. They find the post they came from and tap it to reach its link.

With DMFast’s comment-to-DM

1. The caption asks people to comment a word, for example PLAN.
2. DMFast answers under the comment and sends a plain-text DM asking the person to reply, because Instagram allows no links or buttons in that first private message.
3. When they reply, a card with the link follows, and you can ask for their email along the way.
4. If they go quiet halfway, one reminder can follow on Pro and up.

Later’s route works wherever your bio link lives and doesn’t depend on messaging rules. DMFast’s route keeps the person inside the DMs and can collect an email, but it runs only on Instagram and Facebook, where each comment can get one private reply, and only in the 7 days after it was posted.

Later’s pricing page lists no free plan, only a 14-day free trial. Billed yearly, Starter works out at US$18.75 a month, Growth at US$37.50 and Scale at US$82.50, so the cheapest way in is US$225 for the year. Starter covers one social set of 8 profiles and 1 user, and keeps up to 3 months of analytics. Growth doubles that to 2 sets (16 profiles) with 2 users and adds the Social Inbox. Scale gives 6 sets (48 profiles), 4 users and unlimited posts.

On DMFast, the bio page is part of every plan: Free, then Pro ($9 a month), Growth ($14) and Business ($29), billed monthly. On Free the page carries a DMFast badge, which goes once you move to Pro.

Tip: Compare like with like. Later’s price pays mainly for scheduling across networks, and DMFast’s pays for automated replies. If you need both jobs done, the fair sum is Later plus a reply tool, not one set against the other.

From the Growth plan, Later’s Social Inbox gathers Instagram DMs and comments in one place, so you or your team can answer them by hand. Later’s pricing page lists no comment-to-DM, keyword replies or AI replies.

DMFast answers without anyone at the keyboard. A keyword in a comment or a DM, a reply to your Story, or a mention can each start a conversation, and on the Growth and Business plans AI replies answer questions using only the business details you have written down, at one credit per reply. It skips link and promo-spam comments, and it answers each person once a day per auto-reply, so someone who comments five times in a day gets one DM, not five.
