Instagram bio ideas

Instagram bios for cat lovers

Cat bios work when they sound a bit like a cat: dry, slightly superior and secretly soft. Copy a bio below, add your cat’s name, and keep the account about one small, stubborn animal.

Tips for your bio

  1. Put your cat’s name and “cat” in the name field, for example “Pepper the Tuxedo Cat”. Searches for pets run through the name and username more than the bio.

  2. Cats do the work of a bio in photos, so use the bio for personality: a habit, a rule of the house or a running joke people can look for in your posts.

  3. Pin your best close-up, one funny moment and one short video that shows the cat in motion. Cat accounts grow on clips of a cat doing something unexpected.

  4. If you offer a service such as sitting, portraits or products, use a Business or Creator account and put the offer in plain words with one next step.

  5. Keep your address and the exact windows your cat sits in out of captions and the bio. A pet account is public, and you should not give strangers details about where you live.

Questions people ask

What should a cat account bio say?

The cat’s name, one personality line, and what you post, such as naps, rescue life or care tips. If you sell something or offer a service, add one clear next step. Leave out your address.

Should the bio be written by the cat or the owner?

Either works. Cat voices are very common on pet accounts and feel playful. If you share care, health or adoption advice, the owner’s voice usually reads as more trustworthy. Keep it the same in captions.

Can I make a cat account into a business?

Some people sell products, sit cats, take portraits or work with brands. Nothing is guaranteed, and brands look for engaged followers, not big numbers. Start by posting consistently and clearly stating what you offer.

What hashtags suit a cat bio?

Hashtags in the bio are not clickable in the way they are in captions, and Instagram says they matter little for reach. Use the words in the name field and captions instead, and keep the bio for personality.

How long can an Instagram bio be?

150 characters. Spaces, emoji and line breaks all count. Each bio above fits, and the counter next to it shows the length before you copy.
