Instagram bio ideas

Instagram bios for baristas and coffee shops

A coffee bio has two jobs: tell people where to find you and give them a reason to walk in. Copy a bio below, fill in your street and hours, and keep the link pointed at the thing that gets people through the door.

Write your own

A bio that works usually has the same few parts. Fill them in for yours, or start from the example.

  1. What kind of coffee place you are
  2. Where and when
  3. What makes you different
  4. How to order or visit

Worked example

Independent coffee bar in Leeds ☕ Open 7 to 4, Mon to Sat. Own roast, daily bakes. Order ahead: link below

Tips for your bio

  1. Put your street or neighbourhood in the name field, for example “Ember Coffee Leeds”. People look for “coffee near me” and Instagram searches the name and username more than the bio.

  2. Opening hours go stale quickly, so keep them in a highlight or in the Business contact options, not typed in the bio. Then a holiday change takes ten seconds and the bio never lies.

  3. Add your location and a “Get directions” button by using a Business account with an address. A walker who finds you on a Reel should be able to see where you are in one tap.

  4. Use the link for the one action that earns money: ordering ahead, buying beans or booking a class. If you sell several things, a link-in-bio page with the top item first works well.

  5. Barista and creator accounts do better when the bio says what you post: latte art, recipes, cafe reviews. A few seconds of clarity turns a visitor into a follower.

Questions people ask

What should a coffee shop put in its Instagram bio?

What kind of cafe you are, the street or area you are in, opening days and one way to order or visit. Move changing details, such as holiday hours, to a highlight so the bio stays accurate.

Can a barista have a professional Instagram account?

Yes. A Creator or Business account gives you insights and a contact button. It is worth switching if you post latte art or tutorials, because you can see which clips people watch to the end.

Should a cafe put its opening hours in the bio?

Business accounts can show hours and an address through the contact options. That is better than typing them in the bio, because the hours are easier to update and the bio stays free for what makes you different.

How can a coffee shop answer the same questions every day?

Use a highlight for hours, menu and wifi, and a pinned post for what’s new. For repeated DMs such as “are you open?”, a saved reply or a keyword auto-reply can answer in seconds.

How long can an Instagram bio be?

150 characters. Spaces, emoji and line breaks all count. Each bio above fits, and the counter next to it shows the length before you copy.
