Alternatives to Carrd when a whole website is more than you need
If Carrd is too much building for a bio link, Linktree is the quickest swap, and Beacons and Taplink add a store of their own. Carrd is still hard to beat on price: at the time of writing Pro Standard costs $19 a year with a custom domain, so the case for moving is about convenience, not cost.
DMFast publishes this page and is one of the options on it, labelled as ours. Facts about the other products come from their own websites, checked on 6 October 2026.
Why people look beyond Carrd
- Carrd gives you a one-page site and a template to start from, and you arrange the sections yourself. Adding a link to a ready-made list is quicker.
- There is no checkout of its own. Payments come through Stripe, PayPal or Gumroad widgets, and widgets start at Pro Standard.
- Pro Lite, the $9-a-year plan, has no custom domain, forms, widgets or analytics. They start at Pro Standard, $19 a year at the time of writing.
- Sign-up forms pass emails on to one of 20 outside services, such as Mailchimp, Kit or MailerLite, so a mailing list means running a second tool.
- Free sites carry “Made with Carrd” in the footer until you upgrade to Pro.
- It builds web pages and plays no part in your Instagram comments or DMs.
Alternatives to consider
DMFast, ours, comes first. The others are listed best fit first.
DMFast
OursDM automationIncludes a link-in-bio page, and also sends your links by DM when someone comments a keyword on a post or Reel.
Limits: Works only with Instagram professional accounts and Facebook Pages: no WhatsApp, TikTok, Threads or personal Instagram accounts.
Linktree
Link in bioThe quickest change from Carrd: you add links instead of arranging sections. The free plan has unlimited links, and Premium adds commerce, marketing integrations and branding removal.
Best for: Creators and brands that want a free link-in-bio page with unlimited links, and may later pay for scheduling, deeper analytics or commerce.
Beacons
Link in bioBeacons has a store, a media kit and email sends built in, so selling doesn’t mean wiring up a payment widget. Free takes 9% of sales; Creator Plus, $30 a month, takes 0%.
Best for: Creators who want one home for their links, media kit, a small store and email marketing, starting on the free plan.
Taplink
Link in bioA middle ground: a mobile mini-site with blocks for maps and messenger buttons, and price lists on Pro. Its Business plan adds payments, digital products, lead forms and a built-in CRM.
Best for: Small businesses that want their bio link to open a mini-site with price lists, forms and payments rather than a plain list of links.
Milkshake
Link in bioIf you would rather build on your phone than at a desk, Milkshake makes a swipeable card site in its app and sells digital files even on the free plan, keeping 12% of each sale.
Best for: Creators who want to build a small mobile site on their phone and start selling digital files on the free plan, accepting a fee on each sale.

What Carrd does well, and its limits
Carrd
Best for: People who want a low-cost one-page site they design themselves, with a custom domain, forms and payment widgets from $19 a year.
Strengths
- Paid plans are billed yearly and start at $9 a year; custom domains and forms come with Pro Standard at $19 a year.
- It makes a full one-page site rather than a stack of links, with slideshows, video uploads and no element limit on Pro.
- Forms connect to 20 email and marketing services, among them Mailchimp, Kit, beehiiv, Klaviyo and MailerLite.
- One account can hold many sites: 10 on Pro Standard and up to 1,000 on the biggest tiers.
- Pro can be tried free for 7 days, with no payment card needed.
Limits
- Custom domains, forms, widgets and analytics are not in Pro Lite; they start at Pro Standard.

- Free sites show “Made with Carrd” in the footer until you upgrade to a Pro plan.

When to stay with Carrd
Carrd is very cheap for what it does. At the time of writing, Pro Standard costs $19 a year and includes custom domains, forms, widgets, embeds and analytics. A whole year of it costs less than two months of Beacons Creator ($10 a month) or hoo.be Pro ($9.99 a month).
- You want a real one-page site, such as a portfolio, an event page or a launch page, rather than a stack of buttons.
- You run several sites: Pro Standard covers 10, and the largest tiers go up to 1,000.
- Your list already lives in Mailchimp, Kit, beehiiv, Klaviyo or MailerLite, and Carrd’s forms can feed it.
- You need password protection, redirects or a downloadable copy of the site, which come with Pro Plus at $49 a year.
When DMFast fits
We publish DMFast, so weigh this section accordingly. DMFast doesn’t replace a Carrd site. It changes the step before it: instead of asking people to find the link in your bio, you ask them to comment a word, such as WORK under a portfolio Reel. DMFast replies to the comment, sends a DM, and once they answer it sends a link card, which can point straight at your Carrd page.
You can run both, with Carrd as the site and DMFast handling comments, Story replies and DM keywords on Instagram, and comments and DM keywords on a Facebook Page. DMFast also has a link-in-bio page with tracked links, which is enough if your Carrd site only ever held a list of links.
- Instagram professional accounts and Facebook Pages only: no WhatsApp, TikTok, Threads or personal accounts.
- The free plan reaches 100 people a month and collects 10 emails. Pro, at $9 a month, removes both limits.
- Selling through DMFast’s Store works only in India, with payments through Razorpay.
How to switch from Carrd
- On Pro Plus, download the site first so you keep a full copy. On other plans, save the text and images by hand.
- List every button, link and embed, including any Stripe, PayPal or Gumroad widgets.
- Payment widgets run through your own Stripe, PayPal or Gumroad account, which you keep. Link to those from the new page, or rebuild the products in its store.
- If your forms fed Mailchimp, Kit or a similar service, the sign-ups are already there. Point the new page’s form at the same list.
- If you connected your own domain, change its DNS settings at your registrar to point at the new host.
- Pro plans are billed yearly, so check the renewal date and move before it.
- Change the link in your Instagram bio last, once the new page works.
What it costs
| Option | Price at the time of writing | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Carrd Pro Lite | $9 a year | 3 sites without Carrd branding, premium templates, video uploads |
| Carrd Pro Standard | $19 a year | 10 sites, custom domains, forms, widgets, embeds, analytics |
| Carrd Pro Plus | $49 a year | 25 sites, advanced forms, redirects, password protection, site downloads |
| Beacons Creator | $10 a month or $100 a year | Custom domain (first year free), 500 email sends, AI brand outreach, 9% seller fee |
| DMFast Pro | $9 a month | 3 accounts, unlimited people and emails, no DMFast badge on the bio page |
Over twelve months that is $19 for Carrd Pro Standard, $100 for Beacons Creator billed yearly and $108 for DMFast Pro. On price, Carrd wins for a website. The others charge for jobs Carrd doesn’t do: a built-in store and email on Beacons, comment and DM replies on DMFast.
Tip: Carrd lets you try Pro free for 7 days with no payment card. Use the week to check whether you actually need forms and widgets before paying for them.
Questions people ask
Is Carrd free?
Yes, for up to three sites per account with Carrd’s core features. Free sites show “Made with Carrd” in the footer; any Pro plan removes it, starting with Pro Lite at $9 a year at the time of writing.
Is Carrd good for a link in bio?
It works well if you want to design the page and keep costs low. If you only need a list of links that you update often, a link-in-bio tool such as Linktree takes less upkeep.
Can Carrd sell digital products?
Not by itself. From Pro Standard you can add Stripe, PayPal or Gumroad widgets, and the payment goes through that service rather than Carrd.
How many sites can I make on Carrd?
Three on the free plan. At the time of writing Pro Standard covers 10 for $19 a year, Pro Plus 25 for $49, and the largest tiers reach 1,000 sites for $599 or $999 a year.
Can I use Carrd and DMFast together?
Yes, they do different jobs. Carrd hosts the page; DMFast sends a link to it by DM when someone comments a keyword on Instagram or on a Facebook Page. Put your Carrd address on the link card in the automation.
