Instagram auto-replies for boutique hotels

A boutique hotel posts a room tour and gets forty comments asking how much a night is. Comment-to-DM replies to each with questions a front desk would ask: dates, number of guests, the occasion. It cannot see your room inventory or take a booking, so a person confirms every stay.

Comment words for boutique hotels

Ask people to comment one word in your caption or video. Each word sends something different.

ROOMS
Your room types with the size, bed, view and what each includes, and how to ask about dates, for people who comment on a room tour.
DIRECT
Why booking with the hotel itself can be better, such as a free breakfast or a late checkout, but only perks you really honour.
BREAKFAST
The breakfast menu and hours, what is included in the rate, and how you handle allergies and early flights.
PETS
Your dog and cat policy: which rooms allow animals, the nightly fee, where they may not go and what you provide for them.
WEDDING
Your wedding and event pack: capacity, the rooms you can block for guests, what the hire includes and the dates still open.
PARKING
How guests arrive: your car park or the nearest one, the daily cost, the nearest station and how to get a taxi at night.
LOCAL
A short guide to the neighbourhood from the front desk: where to eat, what is open on a Monday and the walk to the main sights.

4 set-ups to try

Each one shows the conversation it creates. After a comment, the first DM is plain text, as Meta requires, and the link follows once they answer.

  • Date and guest questions from a room tour Reel

    Someone comments on your post

    ROOMS

    Public reply under their comment

Thanks for watching, room details are in your DMs 🛏️

    First DM (plain text)

Thanks for the comment. Which dates were you thinking of, and how many of you would be staying? Reply and I'll send our room types and how to ask for a rate.Yes pleaseOur rooms and how to bookSee the rooms

A room price depends on the night, the room and the party. Asking for dates first tells reception whether a suite is even needed, and the plain-text question follows Instagram's rule for a first message to a commenter.

  • Direct-booking details for “is it cheaper to book with you?”

DIRECTThanks for asking. Are you booking for a weekend away or a longer stay, and is there an occasion we should know about? Reply and I'll send what we include when you book with the hotel itself.Booking direct: what you getSee the perks

People often find a hotel on Instagram and then compare it on a booking site. A short reply that lists what you really add, such as breakfast or a room choice, gives them a reason to ask you first. Only list perks reception will honour.

  • Breakfast questions from a morning Story

    Replied to your story

BREAKFASTGlad you liked the look of it. Does anyone in your group have a food allergy or follow a special diet? Reply and I'll send the breakfast menu, the hours and how we handle early starts.Breakfast: menu and hoursRead the menu

A Story of the morning table gets replies from guests who already booked and from people deciding. The allergy question is the one the kitchen needs answered anyway, and it lets a person step in when someone describes a serious allergy.

  • Wedding and event enquiries from a venue post

    WEDDING

    Public reply under their comment

Congratulations! Details are on their way to your DMs 💍

    First DM (plain text)

Thanks for the comment. Do you have a date in mind, and roughly how many guests would you expect to stay overnight? Reply and I'll send how weddings work here and which dates are still open.Yes pleaseWeddings and events at the hotelSee the pack

A wedding is worth many room nights and is often decided a year ahead. The date and the number of overnight guests tell the events manager whether the hotel can say yes before anyone spends time on a viewing.

Freebies worth commenting for

  • A weekend-in-town guide written by the front desk: where to eat, what to book ahead and what is closed on a Monday
  • A one-page how-to-arrive sheet by train, car and taxi, with the last service times and what to tell the driver
  • A what-is-included sheet that explains your rates: breakfast, taxes, parking and the fees on top
  • A wedding-guest block checklist: how many rooms to hold, when to release them and what to tell guests about booking
  • A pet-stay guide with the rooms that allow animals, the nearest vet and the best walks from your door
  • A packing and planning list for a city break with a toddler, including cots, high chairs and quiet rooms
  • A seasonal guide to your town: festivals, market days and the weeks when rooms sell out early
  • A two-night itinerary for a couple, with the restaurant you suggest and the table to ask for

What people ask a small hotel in DMs

Guests message a boutique hotel the way they would call a friend who works there, usually late in the evening while they plan a trip. Many of the questions have a fixed answer. A few have a different answer every day.

They askSend automaticallyAnswer yourself when
How much is a double in May?The ROOMS card, with a question about datesThey give dates: a person checks availability and quotes
Is breakfast included? The BREAKFAST card, with the hoursThey describe an allergy or a medical diet
Can we bring our dog?The PETS cardIt is a large dog, more than one dog or an assistance animal
Is there a room free on the 14th?Nothing: reception checksAlways, because only your system knows
Can you hold a block for our wedding guests? The WEDDING cardThey want a quote or a viewing
I need to change my booking.Nothing automatic: reply from your reservations systemAlways, and ask for the booking name only

Tip: Keep card numbers, passport scans and ID photos out of Instagram threads. Tell guests where to send them securely, and write that line into the first reply so nobody sends one by habit.

Posts that earn comments for a hotel

  • A slow Reel of each room from the door to the window, with ROOMS in the caption. Show the real view, not a stock one.
  • The breakfast table at 8am with a hand pouring coffee, and BREAKFAST for the menu.
  • A dog asleep on a bed with the owner's permission, and PETS for the policy.
  • A wedding party arriving, shared with the couple's written consent, with WEDDING for the event pack.
  • A day in the neighbourhood told by the person at reception, with LOCAL for the written guide.
  • A Story showing the walk from the station, with PARKING for how to arrive another way.

Small hotels often see enquiries jump after a holiday weekend, when people plan the next trip, and again in the weeks before a local festival or event. Look at your own booking dates, put the matching words live a month early and test each one by commenting from a second account.

From a comment to a confirmed stay

  1. The first DM asks for dates and guests, or the occasion, so the enquiry arrives with what reception needs.
  2. The card opens your booking page, your enquiry form or a page with your phone number. DMFast does not read availability or take payment for a room.
  3. Offer the neighbourhood guide for an email, and export the list as a CSV for newsletters about low-season offers.
  4. Use the single reminder for people who asked about a wedding and went quiet. Couples often need a week to agree.
  5. Reply yourself within the day to any enquiry that gives dates. A room is won or lost on speed.

If you run a hotel in India, the DMFast store can also sell a guide or itinerary as a digital product, give one away for an email and take free or paid 1-on-1 calls, with payments through Razorpay. The room itself is booked and paid for in your own system.

Rules and honesty to check

  • Prices. Many countries expect an advertised room price to include compulsory taxes and fees, or to state them clearly. Check your local consumer rules before a card says “from”.
  • Accessibility. Describe steps, lifts, bathroom layouts and stairs as they are. A wrong reply to a wheelchair user costs far more than a long one.
  • Licences. Selling alcohol in a package, hosting weddings and allowing pets can each need a licence or insurance. Make sure a card promises nothing your licence does not cover.
  • Guest privacy. Do not post a guest, a booking name or a room number without consent, and keep ID details out of DMs.
  • Meta's limits. Each comment gets one private reply, within 7 days, and automated messages only go to someone within 24 hours of their last message.

Questions people ask

Can DMFast tell a guest whether a room is free on their dates?

No. It does not connect to your booking system or your calendar. It sends the message you wrote and a card with your booking link or phone number, and your team confirms the room. Ask for dates in the first DM so the human reply is quick.

Can the first reply include the booking link?

Not after a comment. Instagram allows plain text only in the first private message to a commenter, so ask a question about their dates and send the link once they reply. When a guest messages you first or replies to a Story, the card can follow at once.

Can I message guests who stayed last year about a winter offer?

Not through Instagram. Automated messages go only to people who wrote to you in the last 24 hours, and official tools cannot send mass DMs. Use the email list you collected through a lead magnet, and check your local rules on marketing emails.

Should AI replies handle allergies or complaints?

No. AI replies on the Growth and Business plans answer only from the business information you give them, so give them your hours, room types and policies. Tell them to pass allergy, safety and complaint messages to a person and say someone will reply.

We run a hotel Facebook Page too. Does that work?

Yes. Comments on Page posts and Messenger messages get the same keyword replies. Story replies and the follower gate are Instagram only, and DMFast does not work with WhatsApp, a personal Instagram account or Threads.
