Instagram auto-replies for car detailers

A detailer posts a before-and-after of a swirled black car and every comment asks the same thing: how much? Comment-to-DM replies with the questions that make a quote possible, which are the car, its condition and where it lives. A person still confirms the price and the day.

Comment words for car detailers

Ask people to comment one word in your caption or video. Each word sends something different.

PRICE
Your packages by car size and condition, what each includes and why a quote needs a look at the car, with the booking steps.
CERAMIC
What a ceramic coating is, what prep it needs, how long the car must stay dry and clean afterwards and the aftercare you advise.
CORRECT
How paint correction works: how many stages, what it can and cannot remove and why a deep scratch may only be made less visible.
INTERIOR
Your interior package: what is cleaned, how stains and smells are treated and how long the car must dry before it is returned.
MAINTAIN
A wash and aftercare guide for the weeks after a detail: the products, the technique and what to avoid at an automatic wash.
PETHAIR
How you deal with pet hair and odours, the extra time it takes and what to do before the car arrives.
FLEET
How you work with a van or taxi fleet: regular visits, pricing by the vehicle, invoices and how you schedule around their day.

4 set-ups to try

Each one shows the conversation it creates. After a comment, the first DM is plain text, as Meta requires, and the link follows once they answer.

  • Ceramic coating enquiries from a gloss-finish Reel

    CERAMIC

    Public reply under their comment

Thanks, the details are in your DMs ✨

    First DM (plain text)

Thanks for the comment. What car do you have, how old is it and does it live in a garage or on the road? Reply and I'll send how a coating works, what prep it needs and how to get a quote.Yes pleaseCeramic coating: process and quoteSee how it works

A coating price depends on the paint's condition and the car's size, and a customer who parks on the street has different needs from one with a garage. The three questions let you quote sensibly without asking for a photo first.

  • Quote requests from a “how much?” message

PRICEThanks for asking. What car is it, and what bothers you most: swirl marks, an interior smell, pet hair, or just a general tidy-up? Reply and I'll send our packages and how to book.Packages and how to bookSee the packages

People who send a bare “price?” rarely know the difference between a wash and a correction. Asking what bothers them steers them to the right package and spares you a call that starts at the wrong place.

  • Open slots from a weekly availability Story

BOOKThanks for the message. Which car do you have, and can you drop it off or would it need to be mobile? Reply and I'll send the days still free this week and what each package costs. This week's free daysPick a day

Detailing is booked by the day or half day, and an empty bay earns nothing. Asking about drop-off or mobile tells you whether you can fit the job into a gap, and the message should be edited each Monday so the days stay right.

  • Aftercare thank-you when a customer tags you

    Mentioned you in their story

Thanks for the tag, glad you like how it looks. Did you get the care card with the car, or would a copy help? Reply and I'll send the wash guide for the first few weeks.Caring for your detailRead the guide

Customers tag a detailer on collection day, when the car looks its best. An aftercare guide at that moment protects your work from a bad first wash, and the next time someone tags you, the guide travels with them.

What people ask a detailer in DMs

Most messages arrive with a photo of a dirty or dull car and a short question. A fixed reply cannot judge a photo. It can still collect what you need and send the parts of the answer that never change.

Posts that earn comments on a detailing page

  • A before-and-after of one panel under a torch, with CORRECT for how it is done. Show the same light on both halves or people will not trust it.
  • A time-lapse of a finished coating beading in the rain, with CERAMIC in the caption.
  • A filthy family car brought back to a clean interior, with INTERIOR for the package.
  • A dog-hair-covered boot being cleared, with the owner's permission and PETHAIR.
  • A Monday Story with the open days and BOOK in the text.
  • A short wash demonstration, with MAINTAIN for the written guide.

Detailers tend to get a rush after the first winter of salt and grit, before wedding season and in the weeks before an owner sells a car. Check your own diary for the months that fill up, put the matching words live ahead of them and test each one by commenting from a second account.

From a comment to a car on the ramp

  1. The first DM asks for the car and the problem. A reply with a make and model is half a quote already.
  2. The card opens your price page or your booking form. DMFast does not hold diary slots, so a person confirms the day and any deposit.
  3. Offer the wash guide for an email, and export the list as a CSV to remind customers when a coating is due a check or a top-up.
  4. Use the single reminder for people who asked for a quote and went quiet. Many wait until payday or until the weather improves.
  5. Reply yourself to a complaint, with a photo request. A dissatisfied customer wants a person.

A detailer in India could use the DMFast store to sell a care guide as a digital product, offer a lead magnet for an email and take free or paid 1-on-1 calls, with payments through Razorpay. The detail itself is booked and paid for in your own way.

Claims, photos and safety to check

  • Claims about coatings. Avoid “permanent”, “scratch-proof” and a fixed number of years unless a written warranty says so. Advertising rules on durability claims differ by country, so check yours.
  • Before-and-after posts. Show the same car, light and angle, and do not retouch. Misleading comparisons draw complaints.
  • Number plates. A plate can identify the owner. Blur it, and ask before posting a customer's car or their home.
  • Chemicals and workshop safety. Follow product safety sheets, ventilation guidance and local rules on washing waste water, especially when working mobile.
  • Liability. Know what your insurance covers if a car is damaged in your care, and say what you will and will not do with an existing chip or crack.
  • Meta's limits. One private reply per comment within 7 days, and automated messages only within 24 hours of someone's last message.

Questions people ask

Can it give a price from a photo of the car?

No. The automation does not look at images or judge paint. It asks for the car and the problem, sends your packages and says a person will quote. Giving a final price from a photo is your call, and a range with the words “subject to inspection” is safer.

Can it book a day on my calendar?

No. It does not connect to calendars or booking software. It sends your message and a card with your booking page or phone number, and you confirm the slot. In India, the store can take free or paid 1-on-1 calls, but a car detail is booked your own way.

Can the first message include my price list link?

Not after a comment. The first private message to a commenter must be plain text, so it asks about the car and the link follows when the person replies. A Story reply or a DM someone sends first can receive the card straight away.

A customer comments PRICE on every post. Do they get ten DMs?

No. Each person is answered once a day per auto-reply, and comments that are only links or promo spam are skipped. A person who asks again the next day gets the reply again, so keep the message short and current.

Does it work for my detailing business's Facebook Page?

Yes. Comments on Page posts and Messenger messages get the same keyword replies. Story replies and the follower gate are Instagram only, and DMFast does not work with WhatsApp, a personal Instagram account or Threads.
