Instagram auto-replies for Pilates studios

A Pilates studio sells a few places per class, so people message to ask whether there's room, whether mat or reformer suits them and how a pack works. Comment-to-DM answers while the instructor is cueing a class. Below are the words, four set-ups, freebies and the health points to check.

Comment words for Pilates studios

Ask people to comment one word in your caption or video. Each word sends something different.

REFORMER
A first reformer class: what the machine is, what a beginner does in session one, the class size and whether grip socks are needed.
MAT
Mat classes: the levels, the kit you bring or borrow, the price next to reformer classes and whether they suit a first visit.
INTRO
Your intro offer: the number of classes, the price, the expiry date and how to book the first session.
PACKS
Class packs and memberships: classes included, how long they last, the price per class and the late-cancel and no-show rules.
WAITLIST
How the waitlist for a full class works, how someone is told a place opened and how long they have to confirm.
PRIVATE
One-to-one sessions: the instructor, the length, the price and what a first private session covers, such as goals and movement history.
SOCKS
Grip socks: why they're asked for, whether you sell or lend them, the price and where to buy them.
PRENATAL
Prenatal and postnatal classes: the days, the instructor's training, the doctor's clearance you ask for and what the class doesn't cover.

4 set-ups to try

Each one shows the conversation it creates. After a comment, the first DM is plain text, as Meta requires, and the link follows once they answer.

  • First reformer class from a flow Reel

    Someone comments on your post

    REFORMER

    Public reply under their comment

First-class details are in your DMs 🤍

    First DM (plain text)

Thanks for watching. Have you tried Pilates before, and is there anything, like a sore back or a recent injury, we should know about? Reply and I'll send what a first reformer class involves and how to book.Yes pleaseYour first reformer classSee the guide

Machines are limited and newcomers worry about the equipment. The experience and injury answers let the instructor prepare the setup before the person arrives. The reply itself should never advise on a back problem.

  • Waitlist from a “class is full” Story

    Replied to your story

WAITLISTThanks, we'll try to get you in. Which class is it, and would other times work if a place doesn't open? Reply and I'll send how the waitlist works.Join the waitlistHow it works

A full class shows demand, and the second answer turns a missed class into a booking at another time. Waitlist alerts should come from your booking system, because an automated Instagram message can only go within 24 hours of someone's last message.

  • Intro offer from a limited-time post

    Someone comments on your post

    INTRO

    Public reply under their comment

The intro offer is in your DMs ✨

    First DM (plain text)

Good timing. Is it for you alone or would you bring a friend, and are mornings or evenings easier? Reply and I'll send the intro offer and the first classes with space.Yes pleaseIntro offerClaim the offer

Intro offers expire, so the first message should repeat the end date. The friend answer shows whether to point to two places in the same class, and the time answer shortens the timetable you send.

  • Class packs for “how much?” messages

PACKSThanks for asking. How many classes a week do you think you'd come to, and have you taken a class with us before? Reply and I'll send the packs and what each one covers.Class packs and membershipsSee the options

Once a week and three times a week are different products. In a studio where a late cancel leaves a machine empty, the expiry and cancellation rules matter, so show them on the card.

Freebies worth commenting for

  • A beginner's guide to the reformer: springs, carriage and footbar explained in plain words
  • A mat versus reformer sheet showing what each class involves, the price and which to book first
  • A first-class checklist: when to arrive, grip socks, what to wear and how to tell the instructor about an injury
  • A 10-minute mat routine to do at home between classes
  • A glossary of terms instructors use, such as neutral spine, imprint and the hundred
  • A one-page cancellations and credits explainer, so nobody is surprised by a late fee
  • A health questionnaire to fill in before a first class, kept in your own form rather than in DMs
  • A studio etiquette sheet: arriving early, phones, and how machines are wiped down

Why a Pilates studio's DMs are about capacity

A reformer class has a handful of machines, so a handful of places. That makes most messages about availability, and a cancelled place is an empty machine. Send what's fixed and keep what depends on a person's body.

Is reformer OK for a complete beginner? The REFORMER first-class guideThey describe pain, an injury or recent surgery

Posts that earn comments from a reformer room

  • A slow reformer flow Reel from the end of the room, with REFORMER for the beginner guide.
  • A Story of a full class on the schedule, with WAITLIST as the reply word.
  • A short explainer on what the springs do, with REFORMER for the first-class guide.
  • A pair of grip socks laid on a machine, with SOCKS for where to buy them.
  • An instructor introduction, with their consent, with PRIVATE for one-to-one sessions.
  • A mat class in morning light, with MAT for the levels.

Enquiries rise in January and September, and dip in the summer weeks when people travel. Students often pick the instructor before the class, so posts that introduce a teacher can draw the most bookings. Put the end date of an intro offer in the first message.

Tip: INTRO shows up in ordinary comments such as “love the intro music”. Attach it to the one offer post, so the other Reels don't send it.

From comment to booked class

  1. The first DM asks about experience or the time they can come, so the card shows two or three classes, not the whole timetable.
  2. The card opens your booking page. DMFast can't book classes or see capacity, so the page confirms the place.
  3. Use email capture for the beginner's guide or the mat routine, and keep health information in your own form, not in DMs.
  4. Switch on the reminder for people who asked about an intro offer and went quiet before it ended.

A studio in India can use the DMFast store to sell a digital product such as a home mat series, give a free routine for an email and take free or paid 1-on-1 bookings, for example an intro call with an instructor. Payments go through Razorpay and DMFast takes no fee on sales. Class packs stay in your own booking system.

Health, claims and rules

  • Pregnancy, injury and surgery. Ask people to check with a doctor and to fill in your own health form. Never let a reply say a class is safe for a particular condition.
  • Claims. Do not promise relief from back pain, better posture or weight loss. Rules on health claims in advertising differ by country.
  • Qualifications. Name the training your instructors hold. If you use the brand name of a certification or a method, check you are allowed to.
  • Client photos. Clients wear fitted clothes in class. Ask before posting anyone, and keep the changing area out of shot.
  • Limits. One private reply per comment, within 7 days, with an Instagram cap of 750 an hour. DMFast stays under 700.

Questions people ask

Can it tell someone with a bad back that reformer is safe?

No, and it shouldn't try. Send the first-class guide, ask them to talk to their doctor and tell the instructor beforehand. AI replies, on the Growth and Business plans, use only the information you write, so leave out any claim about a medical condition.

Can it show which classes still have space?

Not live. DMFast can't read your booking system, so link the card to the page that does. Update the message each week, and post a Story with the open classes.

Can it tell the waitlist when a place opens?

Not by Instagram DM after a day. Automated messages reach only people who wrote to you in the last 24 hours. Use your booking system's alerts or the email you collected, and ask people to reply with a word if they want a place.

I teach from a rented room. Is that fine?

Yes, with an Instagram Creator or Business account. List the address and the equipment you bring on the card, and say how many people each class takes.

Does it work if the studio uses a Facebook Page?

Yes. Comments on Page posts and Messenger messages can get the same keyword replies. Story replies and the follower gate are Instagram-only, so the waitlist Story set-up stays on Instagram.
