Instagram auto-replies for dance studios
A dance studio's DMs follow the term: which class for a five-year-old, when does enrolment close, what does the costume cost, can you teach us a first dance. Comment-to-DM answers them between classes. Below are the words, four set-ups, freebies and what to check.

Comment words for dance studios
Ask people to comment one word in your caption or video. Each word sends something different.
- TERM
- Enrolment for the coming term: classes by age and level, the start date, the fee and the deadline for holding a place.
- TRIAL
- A taster class: which sessions allow it, what to wear, whether a parent can watch and how to reserve a place.
- WEDDING
- Your first-dance packages: the length of each lesson, the price, the sessions in a package and how far ahead to book.
- SHOWCASE
- The end-of-year show: the date, the venue, how tickets are sold, the rehearsal days and what dancers bring on the day.
- COSTUME
- The costume list for each class: the style, the colour, the price, the sizing form and when the payment is due.
- ADULTS
- Adult beginner classes: the styles, the evenings, and whether you need a partner for dances such as salsa.
- HIRE
- Renting the studio for rehearsals, workshops or parties: the room size, the hourly rate and whether the sound system is included.
- TINY
- The youngest classes: the age range, how long a lesson runs, whether a parent stays and what a three-year-old does in a session.
4 set-ups to try
Each one shows the conversation it creates. After a comment, the first DM is plain text, as Meta requires, and the link follows once they answer.
First-dance lessons from a choreography Reel

First-dance details are in your DMs 💃First DM (plain text)
Congratulations. What's the wedding date, and do you have a song in mind or are you still choosing? Reply and I'll send the first-dance packages and what we can do in the time you have.Yes pleaseFirst-dance lessonsSee the packagesWedding enquiries count back from a fixed date, so the date shows whether to offer a standard package or a crash course. The song question starts the choreography conversation without a call.
Costume questions after the list goes out
Replied to your story
COSTUMEThanks for asking. Which class is the dancer in, and is it the sizing or the payment you're checking? Reply and I'll send the costume list, the measurements form and the due date.Costumes and deadlinesSee the listCostume questions arrive in a burst right after the list is posted, mostly from parents. The class name picks the right costume from a dozen, and the sizing-or-payment answer sends each parent to the correct form.
Term enrolment from a timetable post

TERMPublic reply under their comment
The timetable is in your DMs 🩰First DM (plain text)
Thanks, spaces are filling. How old is the dancer, and have they danced before? Reply and I'll send the classes that fit and the registration deadline.Yes pleaseTerm timetable and enrolmentSee the classesAge and experience cut a long timetable down to one or two classes. A class that is already full shows up quickly in the answers, and the card can say “join the waiting list” for that one.
Studio hire from a “rent our room” DM
HIREThanks for asking about the studio. What are you planning, a rehearsal, a workshop or a party, and roughly how many people? Reply and I'll send the room details, the rates and the dates still open.Studio hire: rooms and ratesSee the ratesA rehearsal for six and a party for thirty need different rooms and different rules. Hire fills the hours between classes, which is why dates and numbers come up in the first reply.

How the dance year shapes the inbox
- Late summer: enrolment peaks. TERM and TRIAL should be live before families come back from holiday.
- Autumn: costume lists go out, and the same five questions arrive in one week. COSTUME answers them in advance.
- Spring: show season. SHOWCASE carries the date, the venue and ticket details, which change often.
- Wedding season: couples ask months ahead and count back from the date. WEDDING needs a clear lead time.
- January: adults make resolutions and ask about classes. ADULTS needs to show a first-timers' evening.
Tip: Put the registration deadline in the first message, with the date written out. Families decide quickly once a deadline is in front of them, and an unclear one produces a stream of “is it too late?” replies.
What to automate and what a teacher should answer
| They ask | Send automatically | Answer yourself when |
|---|---|---|
| Which class for a six-year-old? | The TERM card with the age bands | The child has additional needs or a bad past experience in a class |
| Can my daughter move up a level? | Nothing: the teacher decides | Always |
| How much is the costume? | The COSTUME list and due date | A family asks for a payment plan |
| Can you teach us a first dance in three weeks? | The WEDDING packages | The date is very close or the song is difficult |
| Is there a class for adults who have never danced? | The ADULTS card | They mention an injury |
| Can we use the studio on Saturday afternoon? | The HIRE details | Always: check the diary before agreeing |
Posts that earn comments from a studio
- A snippet of a couple's routine filmed in the mirror, with their permission, and WEDDING.
- A tiny dancers' class in their first tutus, showing only children whose parents agreed, and TINY.
- A costume reveal before the show, with COSTUME for sizing and dates.
- A stage rehearsal clip, with SHOWCASE for the tickets.
- A new-term timetable carousel, with TERM.
- An adult beginner class laughing through a new step, with ADULTS.
Most dance Reels sit on music. Rules on which tracks a business account may use in promotional videos differ from those for personal accounts, and recorded student performances can raise licensing questions. Check what your account is allowed to use and what your studio licence covers.
Things a dance studio should check
- Children. Get written consent from a parent before showing an identifiable child, and ask about any custody arrangement before posting.
- Body talk. Describe classes by what students do, not by how they will look. Avoid remarks about weight or “a dancer's body”.
- Show photography. Say whether parents may photograph from the seats, and whether a photographer's images may be posted.
- Exams. If you enter dancers for syllabus exams, say which board and who sets the fee.
- WEDDING appears in ordinary comments. Attach it to the first-dance post only.
- Limits. One private reply per comment, within 7 days, with Instagram's cap of 750 an hour. DMFast stays under 700.
A studio in India can use the DMFast store to sell a digital product such as a home practice series, give a free guide for an email and take free or paid 1-on-1 bookings, for example a first-dance consultation. Payments go through Razorpay and DMFast takes no fee on sales.

Questions people ask
Can it hold a place in a class?
No. DMFast sends the message and the card, and your booking page does the reserving. Say on that page that a place is held only once you confirm it, because the first DM can't see how many spaces are left.
Can it message all families when the show date changes?
Not in bulk. Automated messages only reach people who wrote to you within 24 hours, and official tools don't allow mass DMs. Update the SHOWCASE message, post a Story and use your email list or school app for a change.
Can AI replies answer questions about our timetable?
On the Growth and Business plans, AI replies are written only from the business information you provide, at one credit per reply. Add the timetable and the fees, and it can answer “is there a Tuesday ballet class?” and say a person will follow up when the answer isn't there.
I teach in a rented hall without a studio. Does this work?
Yes, with an Instagram Creator or Business account. Make the card open one page listing each class, its hall and its day, so a family doesn't have to ask where Thursday's class is held.
Our parents' group is on Facebook. Does that work?
DMFast works with Facebook Pages and Messenger, not Facebook Groups. A Page can get keyword replies on its posts and in messages, but a post inside a parents' group is out of reach.
