Instagram auto-replies for breweries and bars
A taproom gets the same messages every week: what is on tap, is there a quiz night, can we hire the back room for a birthday, do you sell cans. Comment-to-DM sends the answers while the bar team pours. Below are the words, four set-ups, freebies and the age rules to check.

Comment words for breweries and bars
Ask people to comment one word in your caption or video. Each word sends something different.
- TAPLIST
- What is pouring now, with the style, the strength and the glass sizes, plus which beers are new this week and which are nearly gone.
- HOURS
- Opening times for each day, the last order, whether kids or dogs are welcome and what changes on match days or bank holidays.
- TOUR
- How the brewery tour works: the days and times, how long it lasts, the group size, what is tasted and the minimum age for a place.
- HIRE
- Private hire of a room or the whole bar: the capacity, the hire fee or minimum spend, the food options and how far ahead to book.
- CANS
- The packaged beer you sell to take away: the styles in stock, case prices, where to collect and what the shipping area is, if you post.
- QUIZ
- The weekly events at the bar: the night, the start time, how teams sign up and any prize or tab for the winning table.
- FOOD
- Who is serving food this week, whether you allow outside takeaways and what the kitchen offers for vegetarians.
- WHOLESALE
- How other bars and shops can stock your beer: the kegs and cases, the minimum order, the delivery days and who to speak to.
4 set-ups to try
Each one shows the conversation it creates. After a comment, the first DM is plain text, as Meta requires, and the link follows once they answer.

Cheers for watching. Do you lean towards hoppy, malty or sour, and are you coming in tonight or later in the week? Reply and I'll send what's pouring and the hours.Yes pleaseOn tap nowSee the tap listA taproom sells the beers that are on today, and the list changes weekly. The taste question shapes which beers you highlight, and the day tells you whether to point to today's kegs or the weekend ones.

HIREThanks for asking. What date are you thinking of, and roughly how many people would be coming? Reply and I'll send the rooms, the hire terms and how to hold a date.Private hire and roomsSee the roomsA back room can hold a single party on a Saturday, so the date decides whether the conversation is worth having. The headcount shows if the room fits, before the whole fee conversation starts.

Glad it looks like fun. How many of you would be coming, and is it for a particular date or just the next one free? Reply and I'll send the times, what's included and the minimum age.Yes pleaseBrewery tours and timesSee the tour datesA tour runs with a set group size and a guide, so the party count and date show if it fits a slot. Putting the minimum age in the same reply cuts out the awkward conversation at the door.

What people ask a taproom in DMs
A bar's questions come in waves: before a night out, after a post about a new beer and when someone plans an event. Most are facts, such as hours, events and hire rules, and a person should handle anything about age, intoxication or a table dispute.
| They ask | Send automatically | Reply yourself when |
|---|---|---|
| What's on tap? | The TAPLIST reply, dated | A beer has just run out and the list is behind |
| Are you open on Sunday? | The HOURS reply with the last order | A private event has shut the bar for the day |
| Can we bring our dog? | A line in HOURS about dogs and children | The bar is full for an event |
| Can we book the back room? | The HIRE pack and notice period | Always: a person checks the date and the details |
| Do you sell cans to take away? | The CANS list and prices | They ask for a case that is not in stock |
| Is there a quiz night? | The QUIZ reply with the day and how to join | A team asks for a special arrangement |
Tip: Keep the tap list as one page with a date at the top. Beer lists age faster than any other fact a bar publishes, and an old one sends people to a keg that has already been drained.
Posts at a bar that earn comments
- A pour in slow motion, with the head forming, and TAPLIST for what is on this week.
- A Reel of a quiz round being read out to a full room, with QUIZ for the night and the sign-up.
- Kegs rolling in on delivery day, with the new beer name, and a reply word for the launch date.
- A tour group at the fermentation tanks, with TOUR for the dates and the minimum age.
- The back room set for a party with fairy lights, and HIRE for the packages.
- A case of cans on the shop shelf, with CANS for the list and where to collect.
A taproom runs on a weekly rhythm of quiz night, live music and the Friday rush, and on a yearly one that includes summer terraces, beer festivals and the run up to Christmas. Match days bring big crowds, so the first reply should state any rule on screens and bookings. Test each word on a second account before the post goes up.
Turning a taproom question into a booking
- The comment or message starts a DM that asks for the thing you need: the date and headcount for hire, or the group size for a tour.
- The card opens your hire form, tour page or tap list. DMFast cannot check your diary or take a deposit, so say plainly on that page that a request is not a booking until you confirm.
- Collect emails on the event rulebook or the release calendar, and export them as a CSV for a note about each new brew.
- Link the tour and hire pages from the link-in-bio page, with tracked links, to see which posts bring enquiries.
If you are in India and licensing allows it, the DMFast store can sell a digital product such as a tasting-notes pack, give a free guide in exchange for an email, and take paid or free 1-on-1 bookings for a brewing talk. Payments go through Razorpay with no DMFast fee on sales. Beer itself is sold only where the law lets you, outside DMFast.
Rules and risks for breweries and bars
- Age. Alcohol is age-restricted and the legal age differs by country, and often by state. DMFast cannot verify age, so say the minimum age on the page and check ID at the door or counter.
- Advertising. Many countries restrict how alcohol is advertised, what claims a post can make and who it may be aimed at. Social platforms add their own rules for alcohol content. Check both before posting.
- Selling and posting beer. Rules on online sales, delivery and shipping alcohol vary widely, and some places ban it. Do not let an automatic reply promise a delivery you may not be allowed to make.
- Responsible drinking. Avoid posts and replies that encourage drinking to excess, and train the person who answers the late-night DMs.
- Photos. A packed taproom has customers in the background. Ask before featuring anyone and think about whether a guest wants a night out online.
- Limits. Each comment can get one private reply, within 7 days, and an account is held to 750 an hour by Instagram. DMFast stays under 700.

Questions people ask
Can it check that someone is old enough to drink?
No. DMFast cannot verify age. State the minimum age in the reply and on the page, and check ID in person. If you capture emails for a promotion, add a line that the offer is for adults of legal drinking age where they live.
Can it take a party booking and a deposit?
Not directly. The first message collects the date and headcount, and the card opens your hire form. DMFast does not read a diary or take card payments for a venue deposit, so say clearly that a request is not confirmed until you reply.
Our tap list changes every few days. How do I keep it current?
Update the TAPLIST message or card whenever a keg changes, and date it. DMFast sends what you set and cannot read your keg system. A Story with the board also helps people who saw the post before the change.
Does it work for a pub or a bar that is not a brewery?
Yes. The words change, with MENU, QUIZ, HIRE and BOOKING doing most of the work, but the set-ups are the same. Comment-to-DM, DM keywords and Story replies work with any Instagram Business or Creator account or Facebook Page.
Can I DM everyone who came to the last quiz night?
Not by DM. Automated messages reach only people who wrote to you in the last 24 hours, and mass DMs are not possible with official tools. Use the emails you collected, and post a Story with a reply word for the next night.
