Tips before you post
Show the person, not just the product. A photo of you at the workbench, the till or the packing table gives a small business a face, and people buy from faces.
Post the ordinary parts: a stack of orders, a messy desk, the day’s delivery. Small details make followers feel they know how the work actually happens.
Say plainly what you sell, where, and how to order, at least once in every few posts. A funny caption is great, but people need to know what you do.
Do not claim numbers, awards or results you cannot show. A real small thing, such as a regular customer, is better than a big vague boast.
Reply to every comment in the first hour, especially the early ones. A quick answer tells people a real person is behind the account.
Keep a few photos in reserve for slow days: a shelf, a label, a close-up of your hands working. Having them ready means you never post at the last minute.
Questions people ask
What should a small business caption say?
Say what happened and what you sell, in your own voice. A caption like “forty-one parcels packed, one sore wrist” tells people there is a real owner behind the account and what the work looks like.
How often should a small business post on Instagram?
There is no magic number. A schedule you can keep up for months is better than a burst you drop. Many small owners start with two or three posts a week plus Stories.
Should captions be funny or professional?
Mix both. Warm, slightly funny posts show your personality, and clear posts about what you sell and how to order show people what to do. Let the product decide the tone, not a rule.
Can I use these captions on my business page?
Yes, they are free to copy. Change the details so they match your own business, and leave out anything that is not true for you, such as a number of orders or a location.
