Instagram bio ideas
Spiritual bios, from moon signs to mindfulness
A spiritual bio on Instagram says what grounds you, whether that's meditation, the moon, nature or a practice of your own, in a few calm words. These original bios run from grounded one-liners and astrology lines to mindful and nature bios, with a set for yoga teachers, tarot readers and practitioners that describes the work without promising results.

Write your own
A bio that works usually has the same few parts. Fill them in for yours, or start from the example.
- A practice or belief that grounds you
- One everyday detail
- A symbol that means something to you
- Optional: what you offer and how to book
Worked example
Twenty minutes of stillness a day Pisces sun, chai in hand 🪷 Gentle yoga in Bristol · DM CLASS

Tips for your bio
Moon-phase emoji are drawn as the moon looks from the Northern Hemisphere. South of the equator the lit side is reversed, so in Australia or South Africa a waxing crescent looks like 🌘, not 🌒.
Know what a symbol means to the people who hold it sacred. 🕉️ (Om) is sacred in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism, ☯️ comes from Chinese Taoist thought, 🪬 is the hamsa, a protective sign in Jewish and Muslim communities, and 🧿 is the nazar charm against the evil eye.
Describe the practice, not a promised result. “Reiki sessions in a quiet room” is true for every client; promising to heal anxiety, cure an illness or predict money is a promise nobody can check, and some readers will take it literally.
🪷 lotus and 🪬 hamsa arrived with Emoji 14.0 in 2021, so phones that haven't been updated may show an empty box. 🌸, 🌺 or a plain ✿ are safe stand-ins for the lotus.
Use highlights for what the bio can't hold: one for what a session involves, one for prices, one for kind words from clients. The bio then only needs the offer and the next step.
If the bio asks people to DM a word, have the answer ready: dates, prices and what a first session involves. Someone nervous about their first reading or sound bath wants to know what to expect before they book.
Questions people ask
What makes an Instagram bio feel spiritual?
Naming what grounds you, plus one thing about your daily life, in calm words. “Ten minutes of silence before the phone goes on” says more than a row of crystals. Add a symbol only if it means something to you.
Can my bio say I'm spiritual but not religious?
Yes, and plenty of people say exactly that, sometimes shortened to SBNR. Bios about meditation, nature, gratitude or the moon don't need a faith label at all. If you do follow a tradition, a word or symbol for it fits alongside the rest.
How do I write my sun, moon and rising signs in my bio?
List them in that order, either as words (“Leo sun, Pisces moon, Virgo rising”) or with zodiac emoji, as in “♏☀️ ♉🌙 ♒⬆️” for Scorpio sun, Taurus moon, Aquarius rising. The emoji are shorter; the words are clearer to anyone who doesn't follow astrology. Your rising sign depends on your birth time, so check it before you post it.
Which emoji are used in spiritual bios?
✨ 🌙 🌿 🪷 🔮 🧘 🕯️ 🌕 and ♾️ are common choices. Pick two that match what you actually post: moon phases for astrology, 🧘 and 🪷 for yoga, 🌿 and 🌊 for nature. A long row of them looks like decoration rather than meaning.
What should a spiritual practitioner put in their bio?
What you offer, how it happens (in person, by video or recorded) and how to book. “Tarot readings by video call” plus a booking link is clear in a few words. Describe the session itself, not what it will fix, and keep prices on the booking page where they're easy to update.
