Muslim and Islamic bios for Instagram

Many Muslim Instagram bios pair a short line of faith, such as Alhamdulillah or a Quran reference, with who you are and what you post. Here are original bios with verse references and duas, everyday phrases, Ramadan, Eid and Umrah lines, and bios for masjids, Quran teachers and Muslim-owned businesses. Verses are cited by surah and ayah, some with a few words of transliterated Arabic.

Write your own

A bio that works usually has the same few parts. Fill them in for yours, or start from the example.

  1. A verse, dua or phrase that matters to you
  2. Who you are: work, study or family
  3. One everyday detail
  4. Optional: an offer or how to reach you

Tips for your bio

  1. Give Arabic its own line. Arabic runs right to left, so when it shares a line with English, emoji and punctuation can jump to the wrong end. On a line of its own it displays cleanly, with the English underneath.

  2. Transliterated spellings vary: Alhamdulillah or Alhamdulilah, InshaAllah or in sha Allah, Jummah or Jumu'ah. Pick one style and use it in your bio, captions and highlights, so the profile reads as one voice.

  3. ﷺ is a single character that stands for the blessing said after the Prophet's name, so it takes far less room than “peace be upon him” or (PBUH). Check how it looks after saving, since it can render small on some phones.

  4. ☪️ (star and crescent) is widely used, but not every Muslim sees it as a religious symbol, and many prefer 🕌, 🕋, 📖 or 🌙. 🤲 is a common way to show dua, and 📿 can stand for a tasbih.

  5. Write “halal certified” only if you hold a certificate, and name the certifying body in a highlight. If you buy halal meat but aren't certified, say exactly that; many customers ask, and a precise answer saves an awkward DM.

  6. Update a business bio for Ramadan and Eid: iftar opening times, last order dates for Eid gifts, delivery cut-offs. Set a reminder to change it back afterwards, because old hours left in a bio send people to a closed door.

Questions people ask

What can I write in an Islamic bio for Instagram?

A short line of faith and a line about you. The faith line can be a Quran reference like 94:6, a dua such as Rabbi zidni 'ilma, or a phrase like Alhamdulillah or Bismillah. The second line says what you do or post, so people know why to follow.

Which Quran verses are popular in bios?

Short, comforting ones: 94:5–6 (with hardship comes ease), 2:286 (no soul is burdened beyond what it can bear), 13:28 (hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah), 65:3 (on trusting Allah) and 20:114 (a dua for more knowledge). Many people write the reference alone.

Should I write a verse in Arabic, English or transliteration?

Any of them, or two on separate lines. Arabic keeps the original words, transliteration helps friends who don't read Arabic script, and a reference lets anyone look it up. If space is tight, the reference alone, like 13:28, uses five characters.

What does “revert” mean in a Muslim bio?

Many people who embraced Islam as adults call themselves reverts rather than converts, reflecting the belief that everyone is born with a natural disposition towards God, called fitrah. “Revert since 2021” tells others where you are on that path and invites a welcome.

Can a business use an Islamic bio?

Yes. A short phrase like Bismillah or a Quran reference sits well above plain business lines: what you sell, where, and how to order. Halal restaurants, modest fashion labels, Quran tutors and Islamic bookshops often write their bios this way.
