Usernames for a food blog
A food blog username should tell people whether you cook or review, in words anyone can spell after hearing them once: your name plus a kitchen verb, a dish you’re known for, or a city and its favourite snack. Below are 79 ideas for home cooks, restaurant critics and street-food walkers, with patterns for building your own.

Tips for picking a username
Decide what the account is before you name it. Kitchen words like cooks, stirs and simmers promise recipes; eating words like eats, bites and table promise reviews. A critic whose handle ends in kitchen leaves readers waiting for recipes that never arrive.
Spell dishes the way most people type them. Biryani also turns up as biriyani and briyani, and chaat written as chat reads as conversation. Use the spelling on menus near you, because anyone typing the other version won’t find you.
Leave restaurant names and packaged-food brands out, however loyal you are. A handle built on someone else’s name looks like their own account, the owner can report it for trademark misuse, and your honest reviews start to read like adverts.
Skip numbers on the end. curryleaf27 asks readers to remember digits that mean nothing, and it looks like a spare account. Add your town, your favourite dish or a word like corner, table or tiffin instead.
A rename leaves a trail behind. Restaurants and other bloggers @mention you when they share your photos, and those mentions keep the old spelling after you switch, as do links to your old profile address. Your followers and posts move with you; the trail doesn’t.
Questions people ask
What makes a good food blog username?
Three things: it says whether you post recipes or reviews, it can be spelled by someone who has only heard it, and it has one detail that’s yours, such as your name, your cuisine, your city or the dish you make best. pressure.cooker.whistles tells a stranger far more than yummyfood123.
Should I put foodie in my username?
Only next to something more specific. Foodie appears in so many handles that short combinations with it are usually taken, and on its own it says less than a dish, a region or a city would. foodie.in.lucknow tells people where you eat; foodie.forever tells them nothing.
How do I write regional dish names in a username?
In plain letters from a to z, without accents, using the spelling your readers type most: dosa rather than dosai for a mostly national audience, paani puri or pani puri to match local menus. Use the same spelling in your bio and hashtags. The dish in Devanagari, Tamil or Bengali script can go in your Name field.
Should my handle match my recipe website or YouTube channel?
If you can manage it, yes. Readers bounce between a recipe on your site, the video and the Reel, and one name lets them guess the rest. Check the name on every platform before you settle, and if one is gone, add the same small word everywhere, such as kitchen or cooks, rather than a different fix on each.
How can I tell if a food blog name is taken?
Type it into Instagram’s search bar, then try instagram.com/ followed by the name in a browser. If a profile loads, it belongs to someone. If nothing loads, a deactivated account may still hold it, so the real test is entering it in Edit profile. Two-word names built from spice, kitchen or plate are mostly gone.
