Instagram auto-replies for mindset and wellness coaches
A mindset or wellness coach can automate Instagram DMs so that a word like PAUSE or STREAK, typed in a comment or a message, brings back a guided audio or a habit tracker within seconds. The practical requests run on their own, which leaves your attention for the people telling you how they're really doing.

Comment words for mindset and wellness coaches
Ask people to comment one word in your caption or video. Each word sends something different.
- STREAK
- Sign-up for your 21-day habit challenge: one small action a day and a printable tracker to tick off.
- PAUSE
- A three-minute guided audio for a tense moment: a slow breathing count, then two questions to ask before you react.
- SWAPS
- The self-talk swaps from your carousel: twenty harsh things people say to themselves, each rewritten in a fairer voice.
- GAMEDAY
- A routine for the last hour before a race, an exam or a pitch, ending with one line to say to yourself at the start.
- UNPLUG
- An evening plan for screens: when the phone goes away, what replaces the scroll, and a 10-minute wind-down audio.
- COACHING
- Your 1:1 programme in one message: how many weeks, how sessions run, the price and the short questionnaire before session one.
- WORKPLACE
- For HR and team leads: the talks and workshops you run, session lengths, group sizes and how to ask for a quote.
4 set-ups to try
Each one shows the conversation it creates. After a comment, the first DM is plain text, as Meta requires, and the link follows once they answer.

Thanks for joining. The challenge is one small action a day for 21 days, with a printable tracker to tick off as you go. Would you like the tracker and the start date?Yes please21-day habit challenge trackerGet the trackerA challenge only works if people see your daily posts, so “Only send to followers” earns its place here: the tracker arrives once they follow, and day two turns up in their feed. If you plan to send daily notes, add the email step as well, since those belong in email.
Guided pause audio from a Story
Replied to your story
PAUSEGlad this one landed. The audio is three minutes: a slow count to breathe along with, then two questions to ask yourself before you answer that message or walk into that meeting. Shall I send it?Three-minute pause audioListen nowStory replies are private, which suits a wellness topic, and the people who send them are regular viewers. Keep the keyword set: a reply without PAUSE in it is usually someone talking to you, and it should wait for you.
Session outline for HR enquiries
WORKPLACEHappy to tell you about sessions for your team. I run 45-minute talks and half-day workshops on stress, focus and switching off after work, online or on site. Would you like the outline and how to get a quote?Workplace sessions: topics and formatsSee the outlineAn HR lead planning a session needs formats, group sizes and a rough price before anything else, and this sends all three at once. Add WORKSHOP and WELLBEING to the auto-reply, but not TEAM: “my team is wearing me down” is a message for you, not a brochure.

Good luck with whatever's coming up. The routine covers the last hour before you perform, step by step, and ends with one line to say to yourself at the start. Shall I send it?Yes pleaseYour pre-performance routineGet the routineAthletes, students and speakers comment on routine Reels with a date already in mind. Add GAME DAY, with the space, as a second keyword: a keyword containing a space matches as a phrase, so both ways of typing it get the routine.

Three kinds of client, three kinds of message
Mindset and wellness coaches tend to hear from three groups: people who want calmer days and steadier habits, people preparing for a big moment such as a race, an exam or a pitch, and employers looking for sessions for their staff. Each group writes differently, so give each one its own words.
| Who writes | What they want | Word to offer | Answer personally when |
|---|---|---|---|
| People after calmer days | Routines, habits, a way to slow down | PAUSE, UNPLUG, STREAK | They describe symptoms, a diagnosis or medication |
| Athletes, students, speakers | A steady head on the day | GAMEDAY | Nerves stop them taking part at all, or the client is under 18 |
| Clients ready to commit | Length, format and price of 1:1 work | COACHING | They ask for a sliding scale or a custom plan |
| HR and team leads | Topics, formats and a quote | WORKPLACE | They send a date, a headcount and a budget |
Where wellness coaching stops and healthcare starts
Wellness sits close to health, so people message a wellness coach about things coaching can't treat: sleep that hasn't worked for months, panic, burnout, eating. Let auto-replies send resources and practical details only, and say on your booking page what coaching covers and what it doesn't.
- Describe results as habits and routines, such as “a calmer evening routine”, never as a fix for insomnia, anxiety or burnout. What you may claim about health varies between countries, so look up the rules where you work.
- Titles such as psychologist or dietitian are protected by law in many countries. Use the title and training you actually have.
- Never leave a Story or DM auto-reply without a keyword. With no word, it answers everything, including someone telling you they've had the worst week of their year.
- AI replies, on the Growth and Business plans, can pick up messages that no keyword matches, using only the business details you write. If your DMs often hold personal stories, keep them off and let keywords answer only what you chose.
- If someone may be at risk of harm, reply yourself straight away and point them to local emergency services or a crisis line.
Content ideas for mindset and wellness accounts
- A carousel of self-talk swaps, the harsh line on one slide and a fairer version on the next, ending with SWAPS.
- A 60-second breathing Reel filmed in one take, with PAUSE for the three-minute audio. Present it as a way to slow down, not as a treatment.
- A pre-race or pre-exam routine filmed as a countdown, with GAMEDAY in the caption.
- Your own phone-free evening, from the phone going into a drawer to lights out, with UNPLUG.
- A challenge launch post with the start date, then a short Story on each of the 21 days, with STREAK for late joiners.
- A carousel for managers on making meetings less draining, with WORKPLACE for your session outline.
Performance content spreads through sport and study communities, each with its own calendar of race days, exam weeks and tournaments. A routine posted ten days before a big event reaches people while they're still preparing, rather than the night before.
Busy seasons for mindset and wellness coaching
- January: new-year habits. Open STREAK in the last week of December so day one falls on the first Monday of the year.
- Exam and race seasons: many school and university exams fall in May and June in the northern hemisphere, and big city marathons cluster in spring and autumn. Keep GAMEDAY switched on through them.
- May and October: workplaces plan wellbeing sessions around Mental Health Awareness Month (May, in the US) and World Mental Health Day (10 October). Have WORKPLACE ready a few weeks ahead.
- September: the return to routine after the summer break, and a good moment for a second round of STREAK.
- December: busy, social and tiring for many people. UNPLUG and PAUSE suit the season, and personal messages deserve quicker replies than usual.
Privacy, ad rules and Meta's limits
- Workplace sessions: agree with the employer beforehand that what staff say in a session stays there, and share only anonymous, combined feedback with HR.
- Client stories need written consent, with details changed so nobody can be recognised.
- Boosting a post makes it an ad, and Meta's ad rules forbid copy that asserts or implies personal attributes, mental health included. “Is your anxiety ruining your mornings?” can get an ad rejected; talk about mornings, not about the reader.
- Clients under 18: arrange coaching with a parent or their club, and keep messages on channels the parent knows about.
- A commenter can get one private reply, only in the 7 days after their comment, and an account can send at most 750 an hour. DMFast stops at 700 and holds the overflow for later.

Questions people ask
Which posts should have a keyword, and which shouldn't?
Give a word to posts that offer something: the audio, the tracker, the routine. Leave it off posts that invite people to share, such as “how has this week really been?”. Answers to those are personal, and they should reach you without an automatic reply in front of them.
Should my first DM say that coaching isn't therapy?
Keep the first message short and friendly; it only needs to offer the resource and ask a question. Put the scope statement where people decide: on the page the COACHING card opens, in your booking form and in your FAQ. Anyone who mentions symptoms in a DM should hear it from you directly.
Where should the guided audio live?
Anywhere with a link: your website, a podcast host or a shared folder. The card after the first DM opens it. In India, the DMFast store can also hand out the audio as a free lead magnet in exchange for an email, or sell a longer series, with payments through Razorpay and no DMFast fee on sales.
Can I run the challenge on a Facebook Page as well?
Partly. A Facebook Page can answer STREAK comments and Messenger messages with the same keyword replies. The follow gate and Story replies don't exist on Facebook, so the tracker can't be kept for followers there, and the PAUSE Story set-up stays on Instagram.
