Instagram auto-replies for course creators
For course creators, Instagram DM automation turns a comment into a free lesson, a workshop sign-up or the full syllabus, sent by DM to everyone who uses a chosen word. It earns its keep during a launch, when the same questions about price, access and refunds arrive all week and a slow answer can mean a buyer who drifts off before the deadline.

Comment words for course creators
Ask people to comment one word in your caption or video. Each word sends something different.
- WORKSHOP
- Sign-up for your free live workshop: the date, the start time in a few time zones and the one skill you'll teach.
- PREVIEW
- Two complete lessons from the course, unlocked, so people can judge your teaching before they pay.
- SYLLABUS
- Every module and lesson, roughly how long each takes, and what students can make or do by the end.
- TEMPLATE
- The file from your tutorial Reel, with a two-minute video on how to use it.
- STARTER
- A starter kit for the course's first project: the brief, the files and a checklist, so people can try it before buying.
- ENROL
- Open-cart answers in one message: access, refunds, payment options and the enrolment page.
- WAITLIST
- Sign-up for the next enrolment. It asks for an email, so the opening announcement can reach everyone at once.
- COURSES
- All your courses side by side in one message, each with its price and a button to its page.
4 set-ups to try
Each one shows the conversation it creates. After a comment, the first DM is plain text, as Meta requires, and the link follows once they answer.
Free workshop sign-ups from a Reel
Someone comments on your post
WORKSHOPPublic reply under their comment
You're nearly in, the details are in your DMs 🎟️First DM (plain text)
Great to have you. The workshop is free and live online: 45 minutes of teaching, then questions. Would you like the sign-up link?Yes pleaseFree workshop: save your seatSave my seatTurn on email capture so reminders and the replay can go by email: a workshop is usually days away, and Instagram's messaging window shuts 24 hours after someone's last message. DMFast turns away throwaway email addresses, which keeps the list clean for launch day.
Template for followers from a tutorial Reel

TEMPLATEPublic reply under their comment
Template's on its way to your DMsFirst DM (plain text)
Glad the tutorial helped. The template is the exact file from the Reel, plus a two-minute video on how to use it. Want it?Yes pleaseThe template from the ReelGet the template“Only send to followers” makes following you the price of the file. A tutorial that spreads beyond your audience then grows the group who'll hear about your next launch, rather than handing out a free file and nothing more.
Open-cart answers for ENROL messages
ENROLGlad you're considering the course. The short answers: lifetime access, a 14-day refund window and an option to pay in three parts. Shall I send the full details and the enrolment page?Course details and enrolmentSee the coursePut ENROLL (the US spelling), JOIN, PRICE and REFUND on this auto-reply too, and swap in your own terms, word for word as on the sales page. These questions arrive all through open cart, and an answer in seconds lands while people are still deciding.
Showcase invite when a student tags their project
Mentioned you in their story
Thank you for the tag, this is lovely work. Would you like it featured in the student showcase? The form takes two minutes and asks your permission to share it.Student showcase: get featuredGet featuredStudents who finish a project often share it and tag the teacher. Thanking them with a consent form gives you testimonials you're actually allowed to use, instead of a screenshot of a Story you never had permission to repost.

The questions a launch brings in
Open cart squeezes months of curiosity into a few days, and most messages ask the same things. Most have one right answer that can go out automatically; the few that decide whether the course suits someone are worth your own time.
| Buyer asks | Sent for you | Reply yourself when |
|---|---|---|
| “Is it for complete beginners?” | SYLLABUS, with the level each module assumes | They describe what they've tried and ask you to judge |
| “How long do I keep access?” | The ENROL message: access, refunds and payment options | They ask for an exception to the policy |
| “Can I see a lesson first?” | PREVIEW | They've watched it and have a question about the method |
| “Do I get a certificate?” | A line about certificates on the enrolment page | They need it for an employer or a professional body |
| “Will this get me clients or a job?” | Nothing | Always: say what students learn and make, and promise no outcome |
| “Which course should I start with?” | COURSES: every course with its price | They want a bundle or a team licence |
A launch, keyword by keyword
- Weeks before: post tutorials with TEMPLATE, PREVIEW and STARTER. Each reply to your first DM starts a conversation, and the follow gate grows the audience that will hear about the launch.
- Workshop week: WORKSHOP collects emails. Export the list as a CSV and load it into your email tool, since reminders and the replay belong in email.
- Running the workshop as an Instagram Live? Create the auto-reply before the broadcast starts, because a Live comment can only get a private reply while the broadcast is on.
- Open cart: ENROL answers the repeat questions, and a daily Story with SYLLABUS or PREVIEW in the text catches people who are still deciding.
- Cart closed: that evening, switch ENROL to the WAITLIST message, so nobody lands on a checkout that no longer works.
Tip: On Pro and above, you can schedule a DM from the inbox. If someone asked a question this morning and said they'd decide tonight, a short follow-up an hour before the cart closes is allowed, as long as it goes out before 24 hours have passed since their last message.
Evergreen courses: words that keep working
If your course sells all year rather than in launches, set the main auto-replies to run on every post instead of one. SYLLABUS and PREVIEW then work under a Reel from last spring that people still find, as well as under today's post.
- Write the word in the caption as well as saying it in the video, because many people scroll with the sound off.
- Update the first message and the card when prices or bonuses change. The auto-reply keeps sending whatever you last wrote.
- Avoid EARLY for an early-bird list: people comment “early” under fresh posts just to show they got there first.
- Added a word after a post took off? Paid plans can reply to comments from the past 7 days, the longest Meta allows. Anything older can't get a private reply.
Claims, consent and refunds
- Don't promise income, clients or a job. What counts as a fair earnings or results claim varies from country to country, so look up yours, and show what students learned and made rather than what they earned.
- Repost a student's work only with their permission. The showcase form in the story-mention set-up asks for it.
- Put refund and access terms on the ENROL message and the sales page, word for word, and check your country's consumer rules for digital products.
- Instagram lets an account send at most 750 private replies an hour, and a launch Reel can outpace that. DMFast caps itself at 700 and works through the backlog in order.

Questions people ask
Does DMFast connect to my course platform?
No. It doesn't plug into course platforms. The card after the first DM can link to any page you choose, such as your sales page, a checkout or a free lesson, so it works next to whatever hosts your course.
Can it handle student support questions too?
The simple ones. A DM keyword such as LOGIN can send your help page for access problems at any hour. Use LOGIN rather than ACCESS, because buyers ask “how long do I get access?” before they've bought anything. Refund requests and billing problems deserve your own reply.
Can I sell a course through DMFast?
In India, the DMFast store can sell a recorded workshop, a template pack or a PDF as a digital product, give away a lead magnet for an email, and take paid 1-on-1 calls, all through Razorpay with no DMFast fee on sales. Elsewhere, point the card at your own checkout.
Will AI replies answer questions about what the course covers?
They can, on the Growth and Business plans, if the syllabus is in the business details you write: AI replies use only that information, at one credit per reply. When something isn't covered, the reply says the team will get back to them, so keep prices, dates and policies in those details up to date.
Can I run the same set-ups on a Facebook Page?
WORKSHOP and ENROL, yes: comments on a Page's posts and Messenger chats get the same keyword replies. The follow gate behind TEMPLATE and the story-mention showcase need Instagram, since Facebook has neither.
