Bios for hairstylists and barbers
A hairstylist's Instagram bio should name your specialty, where you work and how new clients can book, because “hairstylist” alone doesn't tell anyone if you're right for their hair. Below are 50 bios for colorists, curl and texture specialists, extension and bridal stylists, and barbers, each under 150 characters.

Tips for your bio
Make the name field say what you're known for, like “Kim | Curly hair, Denver” or “Leo | Barber, Leeds”. Instagram search looks at that field, and it tells visitors at a glance which hair you do.
Working in a salon? Tag its account in your bio with an @. The handle turns into a link, so clients can find the salon and the salon's followers can find you.
Say what you don't do, too. “Curly and coily hair only” or “No color corrections” saves both of you a consultation that ends in a referral.
Moving salons? Change the @, the address and the booking link on the same day, and post a Story about the move, so clients who look you up find the new chair, not the old one.
If your booking software offers an Instagram connection, switch it on so a Book button appears on your profile. The bio then doesn't need a line about how to book.
If your grid shows only one hair type, people with other textures may assume you don't do theirs. “All textures welcome” in the bio helps; a grid with a range of hair helps more.
Questions people ask
What should a hairstylist put in their Instagram bio?
Your specialty, where you work and how new clients can book. The specialty matters most: “lived-in blonde” or “curly cuts” tells people more than “hairstylist” alone. Add the salon's @ if you work in one, and point to prices or a booking link.
What if I work in two places?
Name both, with days: “Tue–Thu at [salon], Fri–Sat in my home studio”. Clients mostly want to know where you'll be on the day they're free. Tag the salon's account so its name becomes a link.
What should a barber put in their Instagram bio?
The cuts you're known for (fades, tapers, beard work), the shop or area, and whether you take walk-ins or appointments only. Opening hours help if they're unusual, like late nights or Sundays.
Should my bio mention patch tests or consultations?
If they're required, yes, in a few words. A line like “New color clients: patch test first” stops someone booking an appointment they can't have on the day. Keep the full policy in a highlight and leave the bio for the headline.
How do I write a bio as a newly qualified stylist?
Lead with what you're building and invite people in: “Newly qualified at [salon], taking models for cuts and color”. Model appointments are a common way to grow a client list, and every one gives you work to post.
