Tips before you post
Mix wide and close shots. One photo of the view, one of a small detail like your drink, your shoes on the tiles or the room key, and one of the people you travelled with.
Tag the hotel, the restaurant or the tour operator when you liked them. It helps your followers find the place, and small businesses often reshare.
Post a few photos after you get back instead of everything at once. Holiday posts spread out over a week or two keep the trip going.
If you are away from home and your account is public, you may prefer to post once you are back so the empty house is not advertised.
Ask your travel companions before you post photos of them, especially children or anyone who prefers to stay offline.
Questions people ask
What is a good caption for a vacation photo?
One that says something particular about the day: the food you ate, how slowly you woke up, the view. A line about a specific moment sounds more real than a general one about travelling.
Should I post vacation photos while I am away?
You can, but a public post can tell strangers your home is empty. Many people share a few while they travel and keep the rest for after they return.
How many vacation photos should I post at once?
A carousel of up to about ten photos works well for a trip. Pick a few strong ones: a wide view, a food shot, a person and one funny moment. You can always make a second post later.
Can I use the same caption for a couple's trip and a family trip?
Often you can, but change the detail. A caption about a long argument over the map suits a couple. One about the children and the hotel lift suits a family. Match the line to who is in the photo.
