Tips before you post

  1. Easter moves with the calendar, so it falls on a different Sunday each year. Check the date before you plan the hunt photos, and post on the Sunday itself or the Monday after.

  2. For an egg hunt, crouch to the child’s height and shoot from the side. You get their face and the basket in one frame, and the garden looks bigger behind them.

  3. Hide a few eggs in bright places for the photo, like against a green hedge or a white wall. Pastel eggs on dull grass vanish on a phone screen.

  4. If you are sharing a church or service photo, ask before you include other families’ faces, especially children. A shot of the doorway, the flowers or your own family is safer.

  5. Chocolate melts fast on a warm day. Take the shot first and put the basket back in the shade before the foil sticks to everything.

  6. If you run a bakery or cafe, post the Easter menu, order deadlines and opening hours at least a week ahead. Last-minute orders are the ones that go wrong.
