Tips before you post
Diwali follows the lunar calendar, so the date changes each year, and the five days of the festival do not look the same in every region. Check the date and the main puja day for your family before scheduling a post.
Take lamp photos at dusk, when the sky is still deep blue. The flame glows against it, while a fully dark background loses the shape of the diya.
Shoot rangoli from directly above, standing on a chair if needed. Angled shots squash the pattern and hide the colours at the back.
Keep lamps and sparklers well away from sarees, dupattas and curtains while you take photos. A loose end of fabric is the usual way a Diwali photo goes wrong.
Be careful with pets and babies near firecrackers, and check your local rules, because many cities restrict fireworks or the hours you can use them.
A small shop can post Diwali opening hours, sweet box prices and the last order date a week before. Many customers order gifts early and ask in the comments.
Questions people ask
What should I write in a Diwali caption?
Write about one real thing in the photo: the diya you lit, the rangoli you made or the sweets on the plate. A caption tied to the actual moment feels warmer than a generic greeting.
When should I post Diwali photos?
Many people post a preparation photo, such as the cleaning or the decoration, a few days before, then the diyas and family photos on the evening. A carousel the next day is a good place for the rest.
How do I take a good photo of a diya?
Shoot at dusk with the lamp in the lower third of the frame, tap the screen on the flame and lower the exposure a little. Keep the phone steady so the flame stays sharp.
Can I use these captions on Facebook too?
Yes. They are plain text, so they paste into a Facebook post, a WhatsApp status or a Story in the same way. Shorten a longer line if you want it to fit on a Story sticker.
