Tips before you post

  1. Use the right greeting. “Eid Mubarak” works for both Eids. Eid al-Fitr ends Ramadan, while Eid al-Adha is the festival of sacrifice, so pick captions about food and family that fit the occasion.

  2. Take the henna photo in daylight, with the palm up on a plain cloth. Henna can look dull under indoor lights and brighter after the stain has darkened.

  3. Ask before you post prayer photos. Many people prefer to keep the prayer ground private, so a hands-and-feet shot or a view from behind is safer than a face.

  4. Shoot the table before anyone touches the food. A full spread of biryani, sheer khurma and sweets is the post that gets saved.

  5. Eid dates depend on the moon sighting and may differ by a day between countries. Post the greeting on the day your community celebrates, not the date on a calendar.

  6. Tag the person who did the cooking and the person who did your henna. It is a small thank you and often a reshare.

Ask people to comment EIDI

End your caption with a line like this:

“Comment EIDI and I'll send it to you in a DM.”

What they get

my Eid planner: a menu for twelve guests, a shopping list, the henna designs we saved and a printable Eidi envelope.

DMFast answers each comment and sends the DM for you. The first message asks them to reply, then the link follows, because Instagram allows no links in that first message.

Questions people ask

What should I write for an Eid caption?

Start with “Eid Mubarak”, then add one real detail: the henna, the first plate of sheer khurma, an uncle in a new sherwani. A caption with one concrete detail beats a long general blessing.

Is it okay to say Eid Mubarak on Instagram?

Yes. Eid Mubarak is the standard greeting for both Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, and it is warmly received by Muslim followers. Many non-Muslim friends and colleagues use it too.

What is the difference between the two Eids?

Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan and the month of fasting. Eid al-Adha comes later in the year and is tied to the Hajj pilgrimage and the story of Ibrahim. Both involve prayer, family visits and food, but the meals and customs differ.

Can I post my family’s Eid photo if there are children in it?

That is a family decision. Some families post freely, others keep children’s faces off public accounts. If you are unsure, post a photo from behind, of hands with henna or of the table.
