IDEK means “I don’t even know”: a stronger IDK for when something is baffling or hard to explain.
What IDEK can mean
1. Baffled
The main use. Something happened that makes little sense, and the writer gives up explaining: “idek how I ended up at a bowling alley.” The word “even” carries the surprise.
2. Overwhelmed or lost for words
It can also be positive. “Idek how to thank you” means the feeling is bigger than the words. Here the writer is not confused at all, only moved or stunned.
3. Worn out
Said flatly, “idek anymore” is a tired shrug at a bad week or a problem that keeps growing. The tone is resignation rather than confusion.
How people use it on Instagram and Facebook
Comments on odd or chaotic posts
Under a strange video or an unexplained photo, “idek what I just watched” is a common reaction, with a skull or crying-laughing emoji if the poster meant it to be funny.
DMs and group chats
Friends use it when a plan has fallen apart or a story is too long: “idek, you decide.” It hands the decision over without sounding angry.
Captions and Stories
People caption a lucky photo with “idek how this came out so good,” or vent on Stories about a week that has run away from them.

Questions people ask
What is the difference between IDEK and IDK?
IDK is a neutral “I don’t know.” IDEK adds feeling: surprise, overwhelm or tiredness. The “even” signals that the situation is bigger or odder than a simple lack of information.
Does IDEK always mean the person is confused?
No. It can describe gratitude, delight or exhaustion as well. Look at what comes after it: “idek how to thank you” is warm, while “idek anymore” is weary.
Should I use IDEK in a reply to a customer?
Better not. It sounds as if you have no idea what is going on. Say “I’m not sure yet, let me check” and follow up with the answer.
