Instagram auto-replies for furniture stores

Nobody buys a sofa on impulse, so a furniture store's DMs are measured questions: will it fit my wall, what is the fabric, when can you deliver. Comment-to-DM sends the specification sheet while interest is warm. Below: the words, four set-ups, and the rules for big-ticket selling.

Comment words for furniture stores

Ask people to comment one word in your caption or video. Each word sends something different.

DIMENSIONS
Width, depth and height for the piece in the post, plus seat height and the clearance needed to get it through a doorway.
SWATCH
How to order fabric or leather swatches, what they cost, how long they take and which finishes each range comes in.
DELIVERY
Delivery areas and timings, whether the crew carries the piece upstairs and what happens if it does not fit.
SHOWROOM
Opening hours, address and parking, with how to book a slot so someone can walk you round the pieces.
FINISH
The wood, colour and hardware options for the piece, with photos of each and a note on which cost extra.
SALE
The dates and terms of the current sale, and which ranges are included, including ex-display items.
ROOM
A planning sheet for measuring a room and laying out furniture on paper before ordering.
BESPOKE
How a made-to-measure order works: what you can change, the lead time, the deposit and who to talk to.

4 set-ups to try

Each one shows the conversation it creates. After a comment, the first DM is plain text, as Meta requires, and the link follows once they answer.

  • Dimensions from a room tour Reel

    Someone comments on your post

    DIMENSIONS

    Public reply under their comment

Sent! Check your DMs for the sizes 📐

    First DM (plain text)

Happy to help. Which piece is it, and roughly how big is the space where it would go? Reply with the wall width and I'll send the dimensions so you can check it fits.Yes pleaseDimensions and measuring guideSee the sizes

Most furniture returns start with a piece that does not fit the room or the stairwell. Asking for the wall width gets the right numbers to the right person and shows who is a serious buyer.

  • Fabric swatches from a sofa post

    Someone comments on your post

    SWATCH

    Public reply under their comment

Swatch details coming your way 🧵

    First DM (plain text)

Fabric looks different on screen, so it's smart to see it. Which sofa or chair is it for, and what colour are your walls and floor? Reply and I'll send how to order swatches.Yes pleaseOrder fabric swatchesRequest swatches

A colour on a phone is unreliable and the order is large. Knowing the room's colours lets you recommend ranges, and requesting swatches is a smaller step than a purchase.

  • Showroom visits from DMs

SHOWROOMWe'd love to show you around. Which pieces would you like to see, and which day suits you? Reply and I'll send our hours, the address and how to book a time.Visit the showroomBook a visit

Customers like to sit on a sofa before spending that much, and asking for the pieces means the right ones are ready. Add OPEN, ADDRESS and PARKING to the same auto-reply to catch other phrasings.

  • Sale announcement from a Story

    Replied to your story

SALEThanks for replying. Are you after anything in particular, such as a sofa, dining set or bed? Reply and I'll send what's included in the sale and when it ends.Current sale: what's includedSee the sale

Furniture sales cluster around end of season, new ranges and festivals. A Story reply is a warm lead, and the category they name tells you which page to send.

What buyers ask a furniture store

Furniture buyers research for weeks and ask in detail. Most questions have a fixed answer, so a good set of replies saves your team hours each week.

They askSend automaticallyAnswer yourself when
Will it fit my room?DIMENSIONS and the measuring guideThey send a floor plan and want a layout opinion
What colours does it come in?The FINISH or SWATCH page for that rangeThey want a colour you have not listed
How long will delivery take?Your delivery areas and typical timesA special delivery to an upper floor or tricky access is involved
Do you have it in stock?A link to the page that shows availabilityStock is held in a warehouse and you must check
Can I see it first?SHOWROOM hours and how to bookThey want a video call walk-through
Can you make it smaller? The BESPOKE process pageAlways: a person should quote this

Tip: Your lead time is the number buyers remember. State it plainly in the message, and update it when the workshop gets busy so people do not plan a house move around a date you cannot keep.

Posts that earn comments on big purchases

  • A room tour Reel with the piece named and its width on screen, with DIMENSIONS for the full sheet.
  • A close-up of a fabric in daylight and in the evening, with SWATCH for how to order samples.
  • A video of a table being made or finished at the workshop, with BESPOKE for custom sizes.
  • A before-and-after of a living room, with ROOM for the planning sheet.
  • A walk through the showroom on a quiet morning, with SHOWROOM for hours and booking.
  • A countdown Story to the sale, with SALE as the reply word.

Furniture sales rise in spring when people move house, around festivals and weddings, and in end-of-season clearances. Plan the words a week ahead so the details are accurate when interest spikes.

From a comment to a showroom visit or an order

  1. Someone comments DIMENSIONS and tells you their wall width. You now know the piece and the room.
  2. The card sends the specification sheet. If the piece looks too large, say so honestly in your own follow-up.
  3. Offer SWATCH or SHOWROOM as a next step, in a separate message when they reply. Ask for an email so you can send the quote.
  4. Take the deposit and confirm the delivery window in your own system. DMFast sends the messages but does not handle orders for physical goods.

If you sell from India, the DMFast store can take 1-on-1 bookings, free or paid, which suits design consultations, and sell digital goods like a room-planning guide, with payments through Razorpay. Furniture itself sells through your own checkout.

Rules and honesty points for selling furniture

  • Upholstered furniture is often subject to fire-safety and labelling rules, which differ by country. Check what applies before you describe a product as compliant.
  • Describe materials as they are. “Solid wood”, “veneer” and “engineered wood” mean different things, and mislabelling is a common cause of complaints.
  • If you offer payment plans, rules on credit advertising usually apply. Leave finance terms off the automatic reply unless you have checked the wording where you sell.
  • Return rights for bespoke or made-to-order items are often limited. Say clearly what you accept back, and check how the law treats it where you sell.
  • Meta allows one private reply per comment, within 7 days, and sets a cap of 750 an hour for private replies, which DMFast stays under.
  • Choose words that are unusual in normal chat. SALE appears everywhere, so say in the caption which post it belongs to.

Questions people ask

Can the first message include the product page link?

Not for someone who commented. Instagram permits no links or buttons in the first DM to a commenter, so it asks a question about the room or piece, and the card follows after they reply. Story replies and DMs you receive first can get it at once.

Can it tell a customer whether a sofa is in stock?

Not live. DMFast has no link to stock systems, and sends the text and link you provide. Point to a product page that shows availability, and keep the reply honest about lead times for anything made to order.

Does it work for a showroom that takes appointments?

It can send your hours, address and a booking link when someone comments or messages SHOWROOM. In India, the store's 1-on-1 bookings can take the slot, with payments through Razorpay. Elsewhere, link to your own booking page.

Can it help with questions about warranties?

It can send your warranty terms as a card or answer from them in AI replies on the Growth and Business plans. Give it your exact wording and what is not covered, because it only answers from information you provide.

Does a store with a Facebook Page get the same features?

Comment-to-DM and keyword replies work on Facebook Pages through Messenger. Story replies and the follow gate exist only on Instagram, and a personal Instagram profile cannot use any of it, so switch to a Business or Creator account.
