Facebook Page FAQ replies for Messenger
FAQ replies are ready answers to the questions a Facebook Page gets every week: are you open on the holiday, is there parking, can I bring the dog. Meta Business Suite can show your most common questions in a new Messenger chat for people to tap, each with an answer you write, and keyword replies catch the same questions typed in people's own words. Below are 14 answers for local businesses, clubs and venues.

“Are you open on the holiday?”
We're open {time} on the holiday and back to our usual hours the day after. Our regular opening times are always on our Page.
Rewrite this one before every holiday. Last year's hours left in place are an easy way for an answer to go wrong.
“Is there parking?”
Yes, there's free parking behind the building; the entrance is just past the shop. On busy evenings the public car park two minutes away is easier: {link}
Say where the entrance is. “There's parking” on its own leaves people circling the block.
“Is it wheelchair accessible?”
There's step-free access through the side door, and an accessible toilet on the ground floor. Let us know when you're coming and we'll make sure the way in is clear.
Describe what's there: steps, door widths, toilets. A bare “yes” doesn't tell someone whether they can get in.
“Can I bring my dog?”
Dogs are welcome in the garden and the bar, though not in the dining room. There's a water bowl by the door and treats behind the counter.
Say where dogs can go, not just whether they can come. It saves a surprise at the door.
“Do you take cards?”
We take cards and contactless, and cash too. There's no minimum spend.
Short question, short answer. Mention a minimum spend if you have one, since it's the next thing people wonder about.
“Do you sell gift vouchers?”
We do! Vouchers are bought online and arrive by email, so they work as a last-minute present: {link}. Each one is valid for {time}.
Mention how long a voucher lasts. It heads off a disappointed message a year from now.
“Can you fit a group of 12?”
We'd love to have you. For 8 or more, please use our group booking form so we can set up the room and send you the set menu: {link}
Groups need a person to confirm. The form collects the date and numbers, so the automatic answer can still handle the first step.
“Is it OK for beginners?”
Absolutely. Every class has an easier option, and the instructor checks in with newcomers at the start. Arrive 10 minutes early for your first session and we'll show you around.
The question is usually about nerves. Saying exactly what happens when they arrive answers that too.
“Is it still on?”
Yes, it's going ahead as planned. If anything changes, we'll post it on our Page first and update this answer straight after.
On a stormy day everyone asks at once. Change the answer the moment the plan changes, before the messages pile up.
“Do you cater for allergies?”
We'll always do our best to help. Tell us about the allergy when you book and the chef will go through the menu with you. Our allergen information is here: {link}
An automatic message can't know what's in today's specials, so this one hands over to the chef instead of promising anything.
“Can I move my booking?”
Of course. You can change or cancel up to {time} before your booking with the link in your confirmation email, or send the new date here and we'll do it for you.
Offer both routes. Some people would rather not dig out the email.
“Are you hiring?”
Thanks for asking! Our current openings and how to apply are here: {link}. If nothing fits right now, keep an eye on our Page, where new roles go up first.
One link to a jobs page answers this all year, without anyone typing it out again.
“Do you do kids' parties?”
We do, at weekends, for up to {number} children. Prices, timings and what's included are on this page: {link}. Want to check a date? Send it here.
Party questions are really date questions. Ending on “send it here” turns an FAQ into a booking.
“Can I hire the room?”
Yes! The upstairs room seats {number} and can be hired for an evening or a whole day. Send us the date and the occasion, and we'll check it's free and put together a price.
Hire enquiries are worth a person's time. Let the automatic answer collect the date and occasion, then reply yourself within the day.

Message PARKING, get the map to the car park
Parking questions come in many wordings, and whole-word matching catches “any parking nearby?” in any capitals. It won't catch “where can I park?”, so add PARK, unless you're next to a park people ask about. They wrote first, so the map goes out with the answer.
Pick direct messages
Connect your Facebook Page and add an auto-reply for Messenger. It answers messages, not comments.
Set the word: PARKING
Any message with the word PARKING in it gets this answer, in capitals or not.

Rules to know
- Automatic answers have to identify themselves as automated when a conversation starts, after a long pause, and when a person passes the chat to automation.
- Automated replies are only allowed within 24 hours of the person's most recent message, and every new question restarts that clock.
- A question that needs checking can wait longer: with Meta's human agent tag, a person may answer by hand up to 7 days after the message.
- Someone who asks in a comment under your Page's post can get one private reply in Messenger, sent within 7 days of the comment.
- There's no official way for a Page to send answers to people who never wrote to it, including everyone who likes or follows it.

Which tool should answer which question
Facebook Pages have more ways to answer repeat questions than most owners use. The right one depends on two things: whether the answer is the same for everyone, and how people word the question.
| Question | Best sent as | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Opening hours and where you are | An FAQ question people tap in a new chat | It's asked first, and one answer suits everyone |
| Parking, dogs, cards | A keyword reply | People ask in their own words, often partway through a chat |
| Allergies and access needs | A saved reply, sent by a person | The right answer depends on the day and on who's asking |
| Groups, parties, room hire | An automatic answer with a form, then a person | The form gathers the date and numbers; someone confirms |
| “Is it still on?” | A Page post, plus an updated answer | The post reaches people who never message you |
| Anything you haven't written up | A person, or AI replies from your business info | A wrong guess does more harm than a short wait |
Meta Business Suite keeps FAQ questions, keyword replies, the instant reply and the away message together under Inbox, then Automations, with saved replies in the inbox itself. Apps on Meta's Messenger Platform add their own layer. In DMFast, keyword replies come first, and messages no keyword catches can get an AI reply, written only from the business information you provide, on the Growth and Business plans at one credit per reply.
Answers people can plan around
- Put the fact before the friendliness. “Free parking behind the building” beats “Great question, we're so glad you asked!”
- Be specific enough to act on: which door is step-free, which rooms take dogs, how far away the car park is.
- Name the exception before they find it: not in the dining room, not on match days, not after 9pm.
- Use one link at most, and make it the exact page: the voucher shop, not the homepage.
- End on the next step when there is one: send the date, book here, give us a ring.
When the question arrives as a comment
Plenty of Facebook FAQs are asked under posts: “what time do you close?” under the weekend specials, “is there parking?” under the event. Answer the simple ones in public, because the next person scrolling has the same question. For longer answers, or anything about someone's own booking, a Page can send one private reply in Messenger within 7 days of the comment, and the chat carries on if they answer.
DMFast can do this on Page posts automatically. Someone comments a word such as PARKING, a short public reply appears under the comment, and a plain-text Messenger message asks whether they'd like the details. Their answer brings the card with the map or link. Comments containing web links are skipped as spam.
Keeping answers in step with your Page
Facebook shows your hours, address and phone number on your Page, and people check one against the other. When something changes, update the FAQ answers the same day, starting with these:
- Before each public holiday: anything that mentions hours.
- When the menu, price list or timetable changes: every answer that quotes it.
- When someone leaves: answers that mention staff by name.
- During roadworks or building work: parking and access.
- Every few months: every answer, read as a customer would, links included.
Questions people ask
How do I add FAQs to my Facebook Page's Messenger?
In Meta Business Suite, open Inbox, then Automations, and choose Frequently asked questions. Add the questions you want people to see when they start a chat, write an answer for each and save. Meta renames menus now and then, so if the wording differs, look for the FAQ option among the automations.
When do people see my FAQ questions?
When they start a chat with your Page, as questions they can tap instead of typing. Tapping one sends the question and brings back your answer, and because they wrote first, the Page then has 24 hours for any further replies.
What if someone asks something that isn't in my FAQs?
It waits for a person unless something else is set to answer: an instant reply saying when you'll get back to them, a keyword reply for a word in their message, or, in DMFast on the Growth and Business plans, an AI reply written from your business info. Note these questions down; the ones that repeat are your next FAQ answers.
How many FAQ questions should I set up?
Only as many as people really ask first. Hours, location and how to book cover a lot of local Pages. Questions that come up partway through a chat, like parking or dogs, suit keyword replies better than the opening list.
Do the same answers work on Instagram?
The wording does. Instagram professional accounts set up their own FAQ questions separately, and DMFast's keyword replies work on both Instagram and Facebook Pages.
