Take bookings through your Facebook Page

To book people in from a Facebook Page, answer the day or time they asked about first, ask only what you need to fit them in, then send one link to your booking page. Messenger gives the Page 24 hours after each message they send, which shapes reminders and waiting lists. These 13 replies cover first questions, cancellation slots, deposits, late arrivals and changes.

  • Reply to “Have you got anything Saturday?”

Saturday's nearly full, but there's still {time} or {time}. You can grab either one here: {link} If neither works, tell me which other days suit you.

Answer the day they asked about before anything else. Sending the booking page rather than typed times means two people can't be offered the same slot.

  • First Messenger message after a BOOK comment

Hi, thanks for your comment! This message comes automatically from our Page. Our diary for the next few weeks is online, so you can choose a time yourself. Shall I send it over? Reply YES.

The Page gets one message per comment until they answer, so this one asks for a YES and the booking link follows in the next message.

  • Dog groomer: first visit

Lovely, we'd be happy to meet them! So we book the right length of slot, what breed is your dog, roughly what size, and when were they last groomed?

Every service has two or three questions that decide how long to book. Ask them before you offer times, not after.

  • Garage: service or repair

We can help with that. What's the make, model and registration, and is it a service or a specific problem? I'll come back with a price and our next free day.

The registration lets you check parts before quoting. For a repair, ask what they've noticed: a noise, a warning light, when it happens.

  • Home visits: cleaners, tutors and trades

Thanks for getting in touch! Which area are you in, and which days usually work for you? We cover {area}, so I'll check that first and then send you some times.

For anyone who travels to customers, the area decides whether you can take the job at all, so it's the first thing to ask.

  • Group or party booking

We'd love to have you all! How many people, which date, and is it a special occasion? For groups over {number} we take bookings by hand, so I'll confirm everything with you here.

Large groups usually need a person: tables to join, a deposit, a set menu. Collect the three facts in one message, then take over yourself.

  • Booking for someone else

    What a nice present! You can book in their name here: {link} Or, if you'd rather let them choose the day, our gift vouchers are here: {link}

Gift bookings run into one problem: you don't know the other person's diary. A voucher gets round it.

  • Deposit to hold the slot

To hold {time} on {date}, we take a {price} deposit, which comes off your bill on the day. You can pay it here: {link} Cancel with {number} hours' notice and we'll refund it.

State the refund terms before they pay. Changing the rules after someone has paid is how small disputes start.

  • Confirmation sent by hand

All booked ✅ {service} on {date} at {time}, at {address}. Parking is round the back. If anything changes, reply in this chat.

Repeat the date, time and address in full. It's the message they'll look for on the day, so put everything they need in one place.

  • They're running late

Thanks for letting us know! If you can be here by {time}, we can still do the full appointment. Any later and we'll need to shorten it or move you to another day.

A clear cut-off works better than “no worries”, and it keeps the next customer's slot on time.

  • Fully booked, with a cancellation list

We're fully booked until {date}, sorry! If you'd like a cancellation, leave your phone number here and we'll call you if one comes up.

No automated message can reach them next week unless they write to the Page again, so ask for a number or an email instead of promising a Messenger alert.

  • Moving a booking

Of course. Which day would suit you instead? I'll check what's free, swap it over and send you a new confirmation.

Ask for the new day first. Cancelling now and rebooking “later” is how a regular quietly becomes a former customer.

  • Reminder while the chat is still open

See you tomorrow at {time}! Reply here if anything has changed, and we'll sort it.

An automation can only send this within 24 hours of their last message. Day-before reminders usually come from your booking system, by email or text.

Comment SLOT on a cancellations post

Public reply under their comment

We've sent you a message in Messenger 📅

First DM (plain text)

Hi! You commented SLOT on our cancellations post, so our Page has sent this automatic message. Would you like the booking link for those times? Reply YES and it'll be here in a moment.Yes pleaseThis week's free timesPick a time

A cancellations post can get several comments within minutes. Each gets one private message, their YES opens the chat, and the card points to a live booking page, so whoever books first gets the slot and nobody is promised one that has gone.

  1. Pick a post

Connect your Facebook Page, then choose the Page post it runs on, or every post.

  2. Set the word: SLOT

Anyone who comments SLOT gets a reply under their comment and a DM. Capitals don't matter.

  3. Paste the message

Add the public reply and the first DM shown here. Once they answer, your link follows as a card.

Rules to know

  1. Automated messages from a Page must go out within 24 hours of the person's last message. A reminder days later is outside that unless they've written again.
  2. Meta's human agent tag lets a real person answer up to 7 days after the last message, for support such as a problem with an existing booking. It doesn't cover promotions.
  3. A comment on one of your Page's posts can get one private message, within 7 days of the comment. The conversation only continues if they reply.
  4. A post someone leaves on your Page, such as “Can I book for Friday?”, can also get one private reply within 7 days. Comment auto-replies only watch comments, so answer those by hand.
  5. A Page can't start a conversation with people who never messaged or commented, so there's no official way to tell all your followers about a free slot by Messenger.

Questions to ask before offering times

The right first question depends on the business. Ask the one or two things that decide how long the slot is, or whether you can take the job at all, and only then send times or the link.

Three ways bookings reach a Page

A comment on a post

Someone comments BOOK, or SLOT on a cancellations post. In DMFast the auto-reply can watch one post or every post. The comment gets an optional public reply and one plain-text message in Messenger, and the card with your booking link follows their answer.

A message to the Page

People who tap the Page's message button and write “can I book?” have already opened the 24-hour window, so a DM keyword reply can send the booking card in its first answer, with no YES step. Words match whole, so add BOOKING and APPOINTMENT next to BOOK.

A post on your Page

Some people post on the Page itself instead of messaging. Meta allows one private reply to those too, within 7 days, but DMFast's comment auto-replies don't watch them, so check the Page for visitor posts and reply yourself.

Reminders, waiting lists and the 24-hour rule

Everything after the booking runs into the same limit: automated messages must go out within 24 hours of the person's last message. A reminder the day before an appointment booked last week is almost always outside it. Your booking system's email or text reminders are the reliable route, and a person on your team can still answer questions about an existing booking for up to 7 days with Meta's human agent tag, in tools that support it.

DMFast's scheduled DMs follow the rule as well: each one is checked again at send time and skipped if the window has closed. Its one reminder covers a different moment, someone who stopped halfway through a flow, such as at the email question.

Deposits and paid bookings

Say what the deposit is, what it comes off and when it's refunded before anyone pays. Any booking page that works on a phone will do for the card's link. On a phone it usually opens inside Messenger rather than a separate browser, so test it there before the post goes up.

In India, if what you sell is a 1-on-1 call, such as a consultation or a coaching session, DMFast's store can take the booking itself, free or paid through Razorpay. People book from your link-in-bio page or from the card in Messenger, and DMFast takes no fee on the sale.

Mistakes that lose bookings

  • Typing out a list of free times that's out of date an hour later.
  • Asking five questions before offering a single time.
  • Taking phone numbers or addresses in the public comments.
  • Promising to message someone when a slot opens up, which the Page can't do once 24 hours have passed.
  • Leaving the cancellations auto-reply running after the slots have gone. Switch it off, or change the card to your next openings.

Questions people ask

Can a Facebook Page take bookings in Messenger automatically?

It can send the booking link automatically: a message containing BOOK, or a comment with your keyword, gets an answer with a card that opens your booking page. The booking itself happens on that page, which keeps the diary right.

Can my Page send appointment reminders in Messenger?

Only inside the 24-hour window, because an automated message has to go out within 24 hours of the person's last message. For reminders days ahead, use your booking system's email or text reminders.

Should people book in the comments?

No. Ask them to comment a word or message the Page, and take the details in Messenger. Phone numbers, addresses and anything about their health don't belong in a public thread.

What if two people reply YES for the same cancellation?

Both get the card, and the booking page gives the slot to whoever books first. The second person sees the times that are left, which is why the card should open a live diary rather than repeat the post.

Does this work in a Facebook Group?

No. DMFast answers comments on your Page's own posts and messages sent to the Page. Group posts aren't covered, so ask Group members to message the Page instead.
