Razorpay fee calculator with GST

Enter an amount and a payment method. You see the platform fee, the GST charged on that fee, the total taken and what lands in your bank. Flip it round to find what to charge so that exactly ₹1,000, or any other sum, reaches you.

How it works

  1. 1Choose which way round

“What I receive” starts from what the customer pays. “What to charge” starts from the amount you want in your bank and works back to the price.

  2. 2Pick a payment method

Each method fills in a rate from Razorpay’s own pages. Every rate and the GST percentage can be edited, because your account may differ.

  3. 3Read the breakdown

Fee, GST on the fee, the total taken as a share of the sale and the payout, with the sums written out. A table compares the same amount across methods.

How the fee and the GST are worked out

Razorpay charges a platform fee as a percentage of each successful payment, and GST at 18% is added to that fee, not to the sale. On a ₹1,000 payment at 2%, the fee is ₹20, the GST is ₹3.60 and you receive ₹976.40. The total taken is 2.36% of the sale. At a 3% rate the same sums give 3.54%.

Working backwards, the price you must charge is the amount you want divided by one minus the rate times 1.18. To receive ₹1,000 at 2% you charge ₹1,024.17: the fee and GST on that come to ₹24.17, and the rest is your ₹1,000. The tool rounds to the paisa at each step and picks the smallest price whose payout still reaches your target.

Tip: Quoting 2% is quoting before tax. If you plan around the 2% figure you will be short by about a sixth of it.

Where the starting rates come from

The presets come from two pages on razorpay.com, both read on 7 October 2026: the pricing page (razorpay.com/pricing) and the blog post “Razorpay Payment Gateway Pricing and Fees Explained”, dated 13 February 2026 (razorpay.com/blog/razorpay-payment-gateway-pricing-explained). They don’t fully agree, which is why every rate is editable here.

Method and rate shownWhere it says so
Most domestic methods: 2% + GSTPricing page: “2% flat fee on all transactions”. Blog: cards, netbanking and wallets at 2% + 18% GST.
UPI: 0% or 2%Pricing page: “Free (0% MDR for most transactions)”. Blog table: a 2% platform fee on UPI.
RuPay credit card on UPI: 2.15% + GSTBlog table, with a footnote that it may include extra MDR beyond the platform fee.
EMI, cardless EMI, Amex, Diners, corporate cards: 3% + GSTBlog table. Debit card EMI is listed there at 1%.
International cards: up to 3% + taxesPricing page. The blog adds that conversion and partner bank fees may apply.

The pricing page also says there is no setup fee and no annual fee, and that pricing may vary by business type and volume. Payment Links carry the standard gateway charge with no extra fee for creating the link. The blog describes a new-merchant offer: no platform fee on domestic payments for accounts activated from 1 July 2026, up to ₹5 lakh in sales or 90 days, whichever comes first, with GST still charged on a 2% base and a one-time KYC fee of ₹199 plus taxes. The calculator has a preset for it.

Settlement, refunds and what is left out

Razorpay’s settlement documentation (razorpay.com/docs/payments/settlements) says domestic payments settle on a T+2 working-day cycle by default, subject to bank approval and the business type, with bank holidays skipped. Its pricing page lists faster options such as instant settlement, which carry their own fee. Refunds go back to the customer’s original payment method.

  • Not included: the instant-settlement fee, chargeback costs, currency conversion on international payments, and any income tax.
  • Whether you can claim the GST paid on the fee depends on your own GST registration. Ask your accountant.
  • Adding the fee to your customer’s price is a decision to check against Razorpay’s and your bank’s rules first.

If you sell through DMFast’s store (India only, paid through Razorpay), DMFast adds no fee on top of your sales. Razorpay’s own fee still applies and is what this calculator shows.

Questions people ask

How much does Razorpay charge per transaction?

Razorpay’s pricing page lists 2% for most transactions and up to 3% plus taxes for international cards. GST at 18% is charged on the fee, which makes 2% cost about 2.36% in total. Your own account rate can differ, so check your dashboard.

Is the GST charged on the whole sale?

No. GST is charged on Razorpay’s fee only. On a ₹10,000 payment at 2%, the fee is ₹200 and the GST is ₹36, not 18% of ₹10,000.

Does Razorpay charge for UPI payments?

Its pricing page says UPI is free (0% MDR) for most transactions, while its blog lists a 2% platform fee for UPI. The two disagree, so use the rate shown in your own account and type it in.

What should I charge to receive exactly ₹1,000?

At 2% plus 18% GST on the fee, charge ₹1,024.17. Switch to “What to charge”, type 1000 and adjust the rate to match your account.

How long until the money reaches my bank?

Razorpay’s documentation gives T+2 working days as the standard domestic cycle. It can vary with your bank and business type, and instant settlement costs extra.
