Instagram money calculator
Enter your follower count and see the published price range for a sponsored feed post at your tier, plus what a Reel and a Story bundle could fetch. Add your reach to cross-check against a cost per 1,000 impressions. Every figure is a range from a source, with the maths shown.
How it works
1Enter your followers
Type them in, or fill followers and average likes and comments from a public account. The follower count picks your tier.
2Adjust where you sit
A slider places you inside the tier’s range. It starts from your follower count; move it for strong engagement or a high-value niche.
3Read the ranges
A feed post, a Reel and a Story bundle, in dollars or rupees, with an optional check against the cost per 1,000 impressions.
Where every number comes from
All the ranges come from one published guide, Influencer Marketing Hub’s “Instagram Influencer Rates: A Complete Guide for Brands in 2026”, last updated on 31 August 2026 and read on 7 October 2026 (influencermarketinghub.com/influencer-rates/instagram-influencer-rates). Nothing else is baked in.
| Tier | Followers | Feed post, per the guide |
|---|---|---|
| Nano | Under 10,000 | $10 to $100 |
| Micro | 10,000 to 100,000 | $100 to $500 |
| Mid-tier | 100,000 to 500,000 | $500 to $5,000 |
| Macro | About 500,000 to 1 million | $5,000 to $10,000 |
| Mega | Over 1 million | $10,000 and well beyond |
For formats, the guide says Story bundles of 3 to 5 frames commonly cost 30% to 50% of a feed post, and that for many mid-tier and macro creators a Reel may cost 1.2 to 1.5 times a standard image post. This tool applies those multiples to every tier, which is an extension of what the guide says. It also gives influencer CPMs as frequently between $5 and $25.
How your estimate is placed inside a range
A range is not a price. The tool places you inside your tier using where your follower count sits between the tier’s limits, on a log scale, so 20,000 followers starts closer to the bottom of micro than to its middle. That is a modelling choice made here, and the slider lets you override it. At 31,623 followers the starting point is the middle of micro: $100 + 50% × ($500 − $100) = $300 for a feed post, a Reel of $360 to $450 and a Story bundle of $90 to $150.
The guide says engagement rate, niche and audience geography move rates but gives no numbers for them. So the engagement rate you enter is shown to help you decide where to sit, not used in a formula. The niche box is a plain multiplier you set yourself, with 1 meaning no change.
If you add average impressions, the tool works out the dollars implied by $5 to $25 per 1,000 impressions and tells you whether your estimate falls inside that band. If you add likes and comments, it shows the cost per engagement a brand would be paying.
What this is not
It is not a quote and not what a brand will pay you. A second guide, Neal Schaffer’s influencer income breakdown (nealschaffer.com/influencer-marketing-cost, revised 9 September 2026), uses wider bands: micro at $100 to $1,000 and macro at $1,000 to $10,000 for 100,000 to 1 million followers. The sources overlap but don’t agree, which is a reason to treat the range as a conversation starter.
- Usage rights, exclusivity and paid amplification can raise a real quote well above the base.
- The guide says creators with audiences in high-CPM markets such as the US or Western Europe often price above those with global or lower-value regional audiences. The dollar ranges don’t adjust for that.
- Below 1,000 followers the sources give no range, so none is shown.
- Rupees are a straight conversion at a rate you can edit. They are not a separate Indian rate card.
Neal Schaffer’s page also cites one influencer platform whose average across more than 38,000 influencers is $221 a post, while its largest single group charges under $50. Averages and medians sit far apart in this market.
Questions people ask
How much can I charge for a sponsored Instagram post?
At 10,000 to 100,000 followers, Influencer Marketing Hub’s 2026 guide gives $100 to $500 for a feed post. Enter your followers to see your tier’s range, then adjust for your engagement and niche.
How much more is a Reel than a feed post?
The guide says that for many mid-tier and macro creators a Reel may cost 1.2 to 1.5 times a standard image post. The tool applies those multiples to all tiers.
What do Instagram Stories cost?
The same guide says bundles of 3 to 5 Story frames commonly cost 30% to 50% of a creator’s feed post rate, since Stories disappear after 24 hours.
Does the calculator use my engagement rate?
It shows it, and uses likes and comments for a cost-per-engagement figure. The sources say engagement moves rates but give no formula, so you place yourself in the range with the slider.
Where does the account fill get its numbers?
From the public profile: followers, and likes and comments averaged over its 12 most recent posts. It is public data up to a day old and uses one of your free look-ups.
