Tips for using these ideas

  1. Swap the default prompt for a topic. “Ask me anything” makes people think; “Ask me anything about renting in the city” hands them a question before they’ve finished reading.

  2. Answer with something to look at: the receipt, the half-packed box, the shelf you just described. A question card over a plain colour is easy to tap past.

  3. Don’t share a question that gives away who sent it. The card hides the name, but a question about “my shop on the high street” doesn’t. Answer those in a DM instead.

  4. After the run, open the Story insights. Exits and forward taps show which answer lost people; replies show which one started a conversation, and that topic deserves a post of its own.

  5. Questions that arrive every week, like prices or delivery times, deserve a permanent answer: a highlight, a pinned post or an auto-reply. DMFast can answer DM keywords such as PRICE or HOURS at any hour.

Questions people ask

How do I do a Q&A on Instagram?

Add the Questions sticker to a Story, type your prompt over the default text and share it. Swipe up on that Story to read what comes in, then share the questions you want to answer as new Stories, each with your reply as text or a short video. You can also answer them on a Live or in a Reel.

What if nobody sends a question?

It happens, and it usually says more about the prompt than the account. Narrow it to one topic, post it when your followers are most active (Insights shows the hours), and leave it up for the full 24 hours. Then answer two or three questions people have already sent you by DM, and say that’s where they came from.

Can I answer Q&A questions on Instagram Live?

Yes. Post the Questions sticker before going live. Instagram has offered a question-mark icon in the Live controls that lists questions sent to your sticker and puts the one you tap on screen. If you don’t see it, screenshot the questions beforehand and read them out.

Can I do a Q&A without the Questions sticker?

Yes. Ask for questions in a post’s caption and answer them in the comments, go live and answer comments as they arrive, or collect the questions people already send by DM. The sticker’s advantage is that every question sits in one list, ready to share back as a Story.

Should I answer every question?

No. Skip anything rude, anything about where you live or your daily routine, and anything that would embarrass the person who sent it. Answer personal questions privately by DM. Three thoughtful answers do more than twenty one-word ones.

How many questions should one Q&A answer?

As many as you can answer well in one sitting. Eight to twelve frames is a comfortable run for Stories; if more good questions arrive, save them for a second round the next day rather than a forty-frame marathon.
