Small businesses get the most from Instagram Stories when each frame does a job for a customer: answering a question, showing what’s ready today, putting a face to the name or making it easy to book. These 55 ideas are grouped by those jobs, and many name the sticker that does the work.

Tips for using these ideas
Check when your followers are most active in Insights, and post frames that need an answer, like a poll or this week’s free slots, just before that hour.
Judge each frame by the action it asked for: link taps on a booking frame, sticker taps on a poll, replies on a question. Story insights show each of these, and they say more about sales than views do.
Save answers that stay true, such as care, delivery areas and how to order, into highlights named after the question, and update them the day a price or policy changes.
Thank customers who mention you in their Story. Each mention arrives in your DMs, and a quick reply keeps the conversation going. DMFast can send that thank-you automatically.
Give recurring frames a fixed look, such as the same photo angle for “Free slots this week”, so regulars recognise them in a second and know whether to stop or tap on.
Keep the shop’s real light and a little real mess. A frame that looks like an advert is easy to tap past; one that looks like this morning is easier to believe.
Questions people ask
What should a small business post on Instagram Stories?
Things a customer would want to know today: what’s fresh or back in stock, when you have free appointments, how to order, who they’ll meet. Add the occasional frame that asks for an opinion, and move anything that stays true, such as delivery areas or care, into a highlight.
Can a business add a link to an Instagram Story?
Yes. Add the Link sticker from the sticker tray, paste the address and place it where it can’t be missed. Say on the frame where the link goes, such as “Book a slot”, so people know what they’re tapping. The Story’s insights count the taps.
Can I schedule Instagram Stories for my business?
Yes. Meta Business Suite can schedule Stories for an Instagram professional account connected to it. Frames that rely on replies or stickers are often better posted from the app at a time when someone can answer.
How long can I see who viewed my Story?
For 48 hours after posting. Swipe up on the Story to see who watched and how they answered any sticker. After that the list of names goes, but the Story’s insights keep the totals.
Can I reshare a customer’s Story about my business?
When someone mentions your account in their Story, you get a message about it, usually with an option to add it to your own Story. Reshare the ones that show the product or the visit clearly, and check first if other people appear in it.
Do Stories work for businesses that sell services?
Yes. Show this week’s free slots, a before-and-after with the client’s consent, what a first appointment involves, and the person who will do the work. People booking a service want to know what will happen and who they’ll meet, and a Story can show both in a few frames.
