Facebook Page name ideas that follow Meta’s rules
A good Facebook Page name says what you do in a few plain words, such as “Saltmarsh Pottery” rather than “POTTERY” or a slogan, and that is also what Meta’s Page name rules ask for. Below are 96 names sorted by kind of Page, from cafés and plumbers to local history pages, clubs and fan pages, then the rules, the username and how to change a name later.

Tips for using these ideas
Put the word people search for in the name. Someone who needs a dog walker types “dog walker” and their town, so “Muddy Paws Dog Walking” has a better chance of turning up than “Muddy Paws” on its own.
Choose the @username at the same time. It needs at least 5 characters, only letters, numbers and full stops, and no .com or .net. Full stops and capitals don’t make a taken username different, so if yours is gone, add your town or trade instead.
Before you commit, search the name on Facebook, on Instagram and in your country’s trademark register, then say it to a friend over the phone. If it needs spelling out twice, or a business nearby already uses it, keep looking.
Leave room to grow. “Lena’s Cupcakes” gets awkward the week Lena starts selling bread; “Lena’s Bakehouse” doesn’t. You can rename a Page later, but each change goes through Meta’s review and regulars have to learn the new name.
Leave out emoji and the styled letters from font generators. Meta’s rules bar symbols, those letters are Unicode symbols rather than plain text, and someone typing your name into search may not find them.
Use one name everywhere: the shop sign, the Facebook Page, the Instagram account and your Google listing. People who meet you in one place look you up by that name in the next.
Questions people ask
What are Facebook’s rules for Page names?
Meta asks that a Page name reflect what the Page really is. It can’t include offensive words, “official” on a Page that isn’t, odd capitals such as “tHe best CaFE” or all caps (acronyms like PTA are fine), symbols such as ®, unnecessary punctuation, slogans or descriptions, or versions of the words Facebook and Meta. It also can’t be only a generic word, like Pizza, or only a place, like New York.
How do I change my Facebook Page name?
Switch into the Page, open Settings, choose Page setup, then Name, and click Edit. Type the new name, click Review Change and confirm with your password to send the request. Meta reviews it before the new name appears, which can take a few days, and it can refuse a name that breaks the rules or doesn’t reflect the Page.
What’s the difference between a Page name and a username?
The name is what people see at the top of the Page and in search, written with spaces and capitals. The username is the @handle in the Page’s web address, as in facebook.com/saltmarshpottery. Keep the two close, so anyone who knows one can guess the other.
Can two Facebook Pages have the same name?
Yes. Page names don’t have to be unique, which is why a common name brings up dozens of Pages in search. Usernames do: each one can belong to only one Page or profile. If a Page nearby shares your name, a distinct username, profile photo and location help people pick the right one.
Should I make a Facebook Page or a group?
A Page is the public face of a business, brand, creator or cause: people follow it to see what it posts. A group is a space where members post and reply to each other. A shop, trade or creator needs a Page; a local swap, a parents’ chat or a fan community often works better as a group, and a Page can run its own group alongside.
Can I put my town in my Page name?
Yes, as part of a name. “Westgate Under 11s Football” and “Harbour Street Traders” are fine; a Page called only “New York” is not. A town in the name also tells locals at a glance that you are the one near them, which helps when several Pages share the same words.
