Slang meaning
What does OFC mean?
OFC stands for “of course.” Usually it's an easy yes (“ofc I'll come”) or a friendly answer to thanks. Sometimes it's dry sarcasm about something that was bound to go wrong: “ofc the printer jammed five minutes before the deadline.”

Shorthand for “of course”: a warm yes or “no problem,” or a dry nod to bad luck that was bound to happen.
What OFC can mean
1. Yes, gladly
The main use. Asked “can you save me a seat?”, “ofc” is a quick yes that sounds warmer than “ok,” because it implies there was never any doubt. It also stands in for “you're welcome”: thank someone for a lift and “ofc 🫶” means it was no trouble at all.
2. Of course that happened
Sarcastic ofc points at bad luck that felt predictable: the bus is early only on the day you're late, the parcel arrives the one hour you step out. It usually goes at the end of the sentence, and 🙃 or 💀 often comes with it.
3. Oceania Football Confederation
In football news, OFC is the Oceania Football Confederation, which runs the sport in Oceania and is one of FIFA's six confederations. New Zealand is its best-known member, so the letters turn up in World Cup qualifying news and in posts about the OFC Nations Cup.
How people use it on Instagram and Facebook
Replies to thanks and requests in DMs
Where you'll see it most. Someone thanks you for a shoutout or asks for a recipe, and “ofc, sending it now” closes the loop kindly. A shop can write “of course” in full to get the same warmth with a little more polish.
Comment threads
Under a post, “ofc” often answers a follower's question: “will the blue come back?” “ofc, next month.” It also shows up as sarcasm under news of a price rise or another delay: “ofc it's pushed back again.”
Captions about small disasters
The sarcastic version sets up a funny photo: “New white trainers, first walk. Ofc the dog found the only puddle.” Here ofc does the comic timing, a beat of resignation before the punchline.

How to reply to OFC
Questions people ask
Is OFC the same as OBV?
Close cousins. OBV (“obviously”) stresses that the answer should be clear to anyone, and it can sound a little superior. OFC sounds friendlier: it says yes without hinting that the question was silly.
How can I tell when “ofc” is sarcastic?
Check whether it's agreeing to something. “ofc” after a question or a thank-you is a yes. “ofc” attached to a complaint, often with 🙃, is sarcasm about bad luck, and it rarely comes with an exclamation mark.
Is “ofc” a polite reply to “thank you”?
Yes, between friends it's a warm way to say you're welcome, especially with an emoji. In a work email or a reply to a customer, “of course” in full or “happy to help” reads better.
Why do people write “ofc ofc”?
Doubling it reassures, like saying “of course, of course” out loud to someone who apologised too much. It almost always reads as warm rather than sarcastic.
