Tips before you post

  1. Golf looks best in low light. The early morning and the last hour before sunset make fairways glow and shadows long, which flatters the whole photo.

  2. Photograph the details around the game: a ball on a tee, a flag against the sky, a scorecard on a cart. They are easier to shoot than a swing and say more.

  3. Do not use your phone while someone is about to hit. Keep quiet, stay out of their sightline and take the photo after the shot lands.

  4. Check the club's rules before posting. Some courses limit phone use, and some do not allow filming other players, so ask the pro shop if you are unsure.
